NAHBS 2010: Bike Porn (SFW)
Well, I'm at home with a sick youngin' today so I found some time to organize some images from the North Atlantic Handmade Bike Show held recently in Richmond, VA. What a great weekend. Saw some awesome bike stuff and held a working lunch with the PdC MAC (Podium Cafe Mid-Atlantic Contigent). We get reimbursed for that, right?
Anyway, this is a link to a photobucket slideshow of some of the pics that I took. Click "slideshow" when it opens. I also recommend selecting the "slow" option at the bottom left of the screen. A few of the images have my third rate commentary. Feel free to leave your own and let me know what you think.
If you're interested in some professional images, here are links to some from the past couple weeks:
I'm posting the image below separately because I wanted to stress how much I loved this bike. Dave Wages of Ellis Cycles won best in show for one of his other bikes, but I thought this was most awesome. Enjoy.

Great set
And I will absolutely be using your hard caption work for my own lazy purposes.

I agree on your assessment of the awesomeness of the Ellis bike. In fact, if I had to get rid of all my bikes in return for having just one, that would be it (except I’d go with Open Pros. Heh.). So clean.
Speaking of...
I’ve got 2 sets of Open Pros. One was my “training” set, the other my “racing” set. “Racing” = less brake wear. Both are built up with Shimano 8 speed, but you’re welcome to them, if you’re interested. Each set weighs roughly 800 lbs.

oops. Check that.
Open 4 CD’s I have 2 sets of…very heavy…willing to part with.
My Open Pros I built up myself…D/A rear; White Bros. front, revolution spokes, Conti. Sprinter 250’s…hanging on to these.

A man goes to NAHBS, and all of a sudden he’s a bike fashion expert . . .
Hipster.
Me? A bike snob?
Not really. It’s just that I’ve learned not to expect too much from Cannondale riders. ;-)

So you have a pair of skinny jeans to sell him,
along with a cuban hat? He rocks that look.

Wher'd my comments go?
Lost my post, but to recap. Great show, great times and great friends. Including our PdC pals. I look forward to more of these get-togethers in the future.
I loved the bikes, the Ellis was very cool and very clean.
They won for the bike to the left in the background.
The new Reynolds 953 Stainless Steel.
The owner, who hadn’t seen his bike, supposedly flew in from San Francisco just to see it!
Racing for Victory and Free Beer!
The Stealth DI2 was one of my favorites
It was so my size! For only about 9 grand it could have been mine.
