Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 7 ..... LIVE
Final day in T-A is one for the sprinters. With the GC sufficiently close there is a theoretical chance that Aqua & Sapone will try some intermediate sprint-shenanigans to allow Stefano Garzelli to squeeze past Scarponi and grab overall victory. Let's all agree it's highly unlikely and focus on the last showdown between the sprinters before they do battle in the big one on Saturday; La Primavera (or Il Preludio as Cuddles the Cobble likes to call it).

I was waiting for the thread, hitting refresh every two seconds, feeling confident of my form,
when the door swung open….‘Morning Albertina, how are the searches going?’…..BAH.
Absolutely. i'm sitting here shooting up..

*delusional... it's the dope.

I prefer to think she was coining a new word--
a cross between ‘delusional’ and ‘dilution,’ so ‘mildly delusional.’

Not happy at losing our team captain for MSR.
Bah knees.

Dominique will win it for cervelo.

Boonen thinks he'll win MSR.
If that happens you will be able to hear me shrieking right across rhe pond.
Boonen says he thinks...
hmmm

Yes Boonen said that Benna had the strongest team so...
it seems like the best time to draft off of him for a perfect leadout for the win!

He has his non-thinking moments, yes
but in interviews he comes across as a thoughtful, honest, friendly, confident and patient person with always something meaningful or interesting to say. Really, they don’t come much better than that.
Which makes you want to slap him all the harder when he's stupid.

Well he is back in Monaco which seems to be treating him better than Belgium
I haven’t lost faith in him yet

Well he is out of the spotlight more in Monaco and he took Lore, his longtime gf,

Dumped,
humiliated her with a 16 year old new GF, and begged on his knees for a second chance.
Gerrie Kneteman: If a football player falls he shouts for his mother, if a cyclist falls he yells for his bike.
I hear it on reasonably sound authority that the 'relationship' with the 16 year old was a bit of a press invention,
although granted, draping yourself all over her in Curacao is hardly a way to deflect attention…
Sure?
I’ve seen interviews where he said she was pretty mature for a 16-year old. That does not sound like a summer-fling.
Gerrie Kneteman: If a football player falls he shouts for his mother, if a cyclist falls he yells for his bike.
I know, I'd read that too...
…but i have a friend who is pretty friendly with some of the QS guys and I quizzed him ;-)
Is she a 16-year old?
Gerrie Kneteman: If a football player falls he shouts for his mother, if a cyclist falls he yells for his bike.
I heard something similar...that she was one of the daughters of one of the race promoters
and that they were never really dating….but it was quite confusing to say the least

what's his background?
doesn’t come across as the traditional Euro cyclist who seems to have a similar IQ to a premier league footballer and the bike has been their route out of a fairly menial job

goodness, that's not at all what I meant!
what I meant was that there’s very probably a gap between what he says he thinks & what he actually does think! Heavens!

It isn't like Ignatiev is a terrible rider...He was 3rd in the last TT at Le Tour last year
and he has done that mad TT at the end before with good success.

He is a good TT'er..
But climber.. And when did he do that before.. I thought he went 20 times in the attack in the Giro.. Won one?
much thinner/fitter this year, no?

Not automatically. The UCI will have to decide, but their practice is to extend all national bans worldwide.
They were waiting to see if the Italian ban would hold first.
