The Boss vs El Pisterolo
For me personally the Tour de France last year wasn’t very exciting. I mean after Mark Cavendish won his second stage after 3 days of racing it was clear he wasn’t going to be beaten. Alberto did the same thing, when the Alps came around he was only a few seconds off the pace of Brice Felliu who wasn’t a GC contender anyway. After his attack on Verbier he had a large buffer on everyone else in the race.
The Tour de France’s most interesting aspect was the war between Lance and Contandor. The build up was vicious. When Contador had the bonk in the Paris Nice Lance tweeted that Bertie still had a lot to learn. It was obvious the whole time that Johann Bryuneel was favouring Lance . When Lance was suffering in the mountains he took the time to announce his new team Radioshack as if to relieve pressure off his racing.
The worst spat of the whole tour was still to come though with Contador claiming the the hotel was harder than the race as well as claiming that he had to pay for his own wheels. I known Lance is supposed to be quite a nasty guy but surely that took it to the extremes.
Reccently Contador changed his race plans for the year saying that after Paris Nice which he won convincingly he can back of the amount of races before the tour. He is changing his plan to ride in the Criterium International which Lance is riding as well. Judging from last year this should be like a nuclear war has erupted.

Uh oh
Doesn’t this go against the LA-AC moratorium imposed by Chris?
I first misread the title as Theo Bos vs El Pistolero. Now that would have been an interesting piece!

Oh for goodness sakes. Do you think he has time to read every thread?
He’s not at work using the work computer to check his favourite sites.

Perhaps you could provide a link to the thread that contains the 'law' for James.

Again, Lance needs to win a race of any significance....
post comeback of course, before AC and the non biased media takes him seriously. Eliminate the result from the TTT last year and he’s probably the 4th or 5th best rider of the Tour, the objective he had pointed at all last season.
James stick around for some discussion of the Monuments and
cobbled classics. Get familiar with the classics and one day races etc. and you will start to understand why PodiumCafe is open 12 months a year. There is lots to learn, we all are learning every day, and lots of fun following races without the dramatic aspects that center around Lance and Alberto and the Tour de France. What happens on the island of Corsica this year will be a side dish as the pro peloton goes to Belgium to contest E3 Pris Vlaanderen and Gent-Wevelgem that same weekend. Click on the calendar in the left sidebar on the main page, there is lots going on so we mean it in a nice way when we say stick to the racing there will time for that other stuff later. Cheers.

It's difficult in Oz to get a lot of coverage outside the Tour
but it’s a good suggestion.

I got ya covered.

Is AC telling LA to check out the view.

Could be!
In one image it’’s clear Lance isn’t near a Tour victory.. Conta is smiling and joking around whole Lance.. suffers..
It’s pure dominance..
Looks like
Lance wants to say “shut up, I’m working my ass off here”, but he can’t talk because he is working his ass off.

James, thanks for the post, and I think the others might like to read your blog.
The piece about your recent climb up Falls Creek is cool. I liked your post “Night At The Track,” too.
Isn't the blog great?
He has a great future don’t you think Ruthann?

I really do, it's a fantastic blog. Plus, I think he's turning into quite a climber.
James, read the fanpost on the right of the page about Alberto going to LBL. I bet that race is right up your alley.

give James ten more years
and he’ll be PdC president. nothing against the current administration, of course.

An Australian in charge of PdC... i wonder what the Dutch Hegemony will say about that =(

no objections here…

lol
and by that i mean LOL, but i’m not a fan of capitals (letters, not seats of gov’t), but then realized it looked a lot like \o/, which is not what i mean. it also looks like someone drowning in a sea of blood, waving for help, due to the squiggly red line underneath.
and that concludes this edition of fun with letters presented by ant1.

I have to agree with the sentiments of others here
a 3 days race in March isn’t going to be a major talking point in the rivalry. Saying that, I’m looking forward to the race because Bert climbing up a 14km finishing climb is always a site to behold…please have video coverage!

unless aso/french coverage changes, it will be highlights of stages 1 and 2, and coverage of stage 3... about 1.5 hours total on sunday

Bah
they need to at least show the mountain stage live, I mean it’s Lance and Alberto racing what the hell is wrong with TV networks.
Proud member of Thuggetz nation.
Versus will have delayed coverage of both days, including 1/5 hours on Saturday
For their website:
Criterium International: March 27th & 28th, 2:30-4p ET
Race organiser Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) has announced that the 2010 Criterium International – the two-day “mini Tour de France” – will take place on the island of Corsica in 2010. The race has been held in Charleville-Mézières, in the French Ardennes, since 2001. German Jens Voigt (Saxo Bank) has won the last three editions of the race.
That’s better than I had hoped. Of course it will be wall-to-wall Lance vs Bert.
Will they show racing
or will they show the buttox of Lance the entire time? Also no one calls it the “mini Tour” do they? It’s barely 2 full stages.

that's new
