Cycling at The Greenbriar in WV

Anyone know of some nice road routes to ride near the Resort? I know they have a ton of mountain bike trails but I want to bring my road bike too and get on some hills in this nice weather.  I know this is kind of a random blast but I figured someone on here may have some privy info, even if it is in the middle of nowhere.  Thanks so much for any suggestions !

Nothing useful

But I just wanted to express my sympathies for the tough life, having to find road rides around Greenbriar . . . :)

(But really, think about taking your MTB. Gotta be nothing less than fantastic out there.)

they have better mountain bikes

Here than I have. I’m going trail one day and road another. Sporting clays and falconry fit in somewhere.

My wife's family lives out that way

(up in Richwood) but I’ve never brought a bike out when I’ve visited. Lots of country roads, including some pretty steep stuff (marked 8% or 10%, if I remember right), but not a ton of shoulder and very curvy. In other words, I have no advice for you other than be careful. It should be fun, though, and I’m rather jealous, so let us know how it goes.

Yeah WV is like that a lot

I am out their for about a month out of the year and you have to pick and chose the roads carefully and a lot of the time it is just MTB’s on some cool abandoned roads.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
