Peloton split because of a crash of Fischer on the descent of the Turchino
A minute or so between the groups. Early break gobbled up before live pictures.
Thanks

Thank goodness for the gazzetta
as universalsports is once again, for no particular reason, refusing to load video for me.
I know, I never had trouble until a couple weeks ago
when all of sudden I could watch T-A coverage but not the skiing from Garmisch. Now I can watch the athletics but not the cycling. Random and frustrating!
how rude

RAI reckon that no-one cares because he’s in such crap form, and that’s why everyone’s going so slowly

or is that just my imagination
If I were them I would try to drop him again.
Going slow enough to let him make the finish, so not a good idea.

i'm with you there
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
I get a couple of words... it's not that far from French
But not everything
Age and treachery will overcome youth and skill (F. Coppi)
but if you speak French you can understand a fair bit, no?
"I was just trying to keep warm" - Ian Stannard on finishing third in KBK
a few words
if they spoke slower, it would be better
Age and treachery will overcome youth and skill (F. Coppi)
That's what I always think about French!
In Italian I find the individual words are easier to pick out, even at speed.
"I was just trying to keep warm" - Ian Stannard on finishing third in KBK
there is also the "multitasking" factor
Watching the feed
Following the talk here
Listening to the radio in my living room at the same time
Age and treachery will overcome youth and skill (F. Coppi)
Obviously.
But I have enough French & Italian to understand a fair amount of Spanish, for instance.
"I was just trying to keep warm" - Ian Stannard on finishing third in KBK
Yeah, I know that's usually the case
I think Italian and Spanish are closer in sound though? I do get some spoken Italian now, but only after taking a few months of a beginner’s course and getting used to the pattern of where the sounds are different.
That's why you need tapes
I listen to and speak far more Italian than I ever read and write.
I tried to do the same many years ago
when all I had was Rai Uno on TV. But oh my, are those shows bad.
Haha. What, you don't like dancing girls?
I was thinking more like radio and Serie A matches, not sure I could deal with regular Italian tv too long.
Not just bad
but long, very very long. I could cope with Raffaella Carra, but not much more
oh god... I have to read & write letters & stuff for work
horrible, though fortunately with a v. specialist vocabulary
"I was just trying to keep warm" - Ian Stannard on finishing third in KBK
I could do it at a pinch in Italian
my French spelling is pretty rough though. Too phonetic.

Age and treachery will overcome youth and skill (F. Coppi)
Or Rollin
That would be good. Maybe they would talk about cycling here for a change
Age and treachery will overcome youth and skill (F. Coppi)
That being said, the talk around here is the Habs-Leafs game tonight
And of course, I will watch it.
