Just trying to forget MSR, Nibali gave me hope for 5 minutes but I ended up with 0 as planned... Time to move on to Spain.

Looks like I have:
- Nicolas Roche
- Dumoulin
- Taaramae (GC podium I hope)
- Tony Martin
- Deignan
- Le Mevel
- Di Gregorio

Where are Daniel Martin and Chicchi?

My team:

Luis Leon Sanchez, Guarnieri, Mosquera, Popovych, Szmyd, José Ivan Gutierrez and Rafael Valls.

Unfortunately there don’t seem to be any huge mountain finishes for Mosquera, and LL Sanchez is probably still exhausted from P-N. Regretting picking Popovych and Szmyd too. Great riders but their value as domestiques mean they don’t get many chances of their own.

Zeits, Anton, Guarnieri, Mosquera, Sastre, A. Schleck...

zero points of Schleck, Sastre and Zeits probably… Survive and hang on!

not much hope...

Anton, Guarnieri, Leon Sanchez, Cardoso (hope he is recovered), Daniel Moreno (wait to see if was a good pick!,) Malacarne from QS and Taramaee.

hoping for LL Sanchez and Taramee for GC, but probably they are tired from PN…

should be a good race!

Miss Sweden brings LL Sanchez, Kreuziger, Taramae, Martin, JJ Haedo, Anton, Efimkim

It’s nice having a bunch of my boys in this one. I mean, shoot, they can’t all be tired, can they?

Small squad for me...

Anton, Pietropolli and Cardoso. Each point is a bonus

by Vinnie1 on Mar 20, 2010 8:31 PM EDT reply actions

So if MSR is any indication, these three are your Cataluna podium

At least I have Cardoso.

Rest of the team is Karpets, Efimkin, Roche, Zabriskie, Gutierrez, Kreder, VanGardereren. Hopefully the prologue will have some sort of impact on the race.

I might make a small splash,

Or maybe that squishing sound when your shoes are wet.

I have Kloden and Sastre amongst others...

I know Soler had an accident a while back, but I’m wondering what the story is. This is a race I thought he might ride for Caisse…

I gots

Hmm.

Zabriskie, Hesjedal, Lulu, Gutierrez, Cardoso, Vazquez, Sastre, and Haedo: the JJ version.

Several of these teams are really, really strong-on paper. I’m gonna write up a full preview tomorrow.

If Valverde starts or not

will likely tell us if he’s banned world-wide or not, also according to MyP2P there should be some form of live streaming for the race this year.

AV is not on the list

moi, I don’t think it’s such a good idea to start any race at this moment….

by rbjhan on Mar 21, 2010 4:41 AM EDT up reply actions

Actually

I read somewhere that AV’s next race was always supposed to be Pais Vasco.

Like my lineup

Kreuziger, Le Mevel, Roche, Moinard, Hesjedal,Gustavo Cesar Veloso (won ‘08), and Sastre. Some GC, stage hunter, and darkhorse potential there, methinks. Only Carlos can say he is riding for training, for the rest it is the way of the…podium kisses? Sorry, but once I started the sentence with “Only”, I couldn’t help myself.

Hoping for a little something...

I’ve got Lulu, J-Rod, Taaramae, Dumoulin, Van Garderen, Pereiro, Valls, and Cardoso.

With Contador and (hopefully) Valverde out, I was thinking this race might go well for my GC guys, but damn… there are still a lot of top-tier guys in here.

Hmm

I have Valjavec, Vandevelde, Basso, Mosquera, F Schleck, and M Velits. Maybe some others – I’m having trouble remembering who is still on my team and who I dropped at the last minute.

I hope some of those guys are taking GC seriously – I will be disappointed if I come away with nothing.

After a quick glance, I have

Vandevelde, Zabriskie, Sastre, Basso, Peraud, Aerts and Förster.

I hope to score some points.

Valjavec, Basso, Karpets, Cardoso, Dumoulin, Veloso, Szmyd

I really should get something, though I’m not sure the course will suit Basso

Tony Martin, Michel Kreder, Sastre & Dumoulin

not holding my breath… was a bit disappointed with Martin at Paris-Nice, which is slightly perverse given that I didn’t really expect anything

Quite a few for this race:

David Zabriskie
Joaquim Rodriguez
Xavier Tondo
Nicolas Roche
Luke Roberts
Manuel Cardoso
Christophe Kern
Oscar Pereiro.
Can’t see any of these guys getting the overall win, but pleased with their general prospects.
