Bah... Stupid Runitout

I thought for some reason Pais Vasco started this week. Even though it’s still march.

Hmmm. Catalunya. Well, it’s better than no racing at all. Three cheers for Cofidis in this race- that’s where my money lies.

Ahem

I do not recall ever participating in a thread which has persisted in the gutter quite like the… effort… above ;-).

Anyways, I’m building up my form for Holy Week :-). I’ve had some massive, massive sleep issues. Over a fortnight with runs of 4 or so days with a maximum of 4hrs sleep, broken by days with luxurious ‘catch-up’ sleeps of 5-6hrs. It has taught me a whole new meaning of ‘despair’. [yeah yeah, I am sure that there are folks out there who survive like that, and consider it ‘normal’. Such people are freaksspecial].

I’m thinking that I need to take some leave – have a small ‘holiday at home’. I’d planned to use my leave to take most of the Tour off work… sigh… I might just have to study the parcours and be really selective – I need a break a bit sooner than July…

Benna wants to know

if the operation necessitated Nibali removing his head from his hindquarters first. If you haven’t seen GreylockGrinder’s post-MSR quote thread, Nibali was NOT supposed to take off like that:

Nibali was supposed to be in the leadout train, although it might not have been enough to beat Freire, who was overpowering. But the instructions at the start were a bit different from how things turned out: Vincenzo was free to play his own card on the ascent or the descent of the Poggio, but not on the flat during the finale

I picture a frown marring the smoothness of Benna’s face.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
