but tomorrow it will be mainly Sikh curries, so no meat. I personally LOVE fish curry… and Indian dancing… fantastic. We dance in the streets and on the edge of the beach. It’s beautiful :)

In Guyana and Trinidad the favourite is duck curry, not religious. They usually have duck curry competition where they cook outdoors one wood and coal fire places. Lots of rum dancing and singing etc. The Indians love rum here!!!

My indian students would often bring me samosas from their mothers or roti. Yum. I’ve been to a number of Hens Nights here … so my Indian dancing skills have improved tremendously :)

The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little pray for you
While combing my hair now,
And wondering what dress to wear now,
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, and ever, you’ll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever, we never will part
Oh, how I love you
Together, forever, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only meen heartbreak for me.

I run for the bus, dear,
While riding I think of us, dear,
I say a little prayer for you.
At work I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time,
I say a little prayer for you.

Forever, and ever, you’ll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever we never will part
Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, forever, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me.

I say a little prayer for you

I say a little prayer for you

My darling believe me, ( beleive me)
For me there is no one but you!
Please love me too (answer his pray)
And I’m in love with you (answer his pray)
Answer my prayer now babe (answer his pray)

Forever, and ever, you’ll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever we never will part
Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, forever, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me (oooooooooh)

Not sure Machado or Jani can make up that much time on Anton and Zeke in what 15 km….

by ursula on Apr 16, 2010 10:53 AM EDT up reply actions

On second thought

Looking back at last year’s Dauphine, the opening ITT of 12 km, Anton lost 56 seconds to Evans (with Bert 8 seconds back). This could be interesting though I’m thinking Anton is on better form now than he was in that race last year.

by ursula on Apr 16, 2010 10:56 AM EDT up reply actions

Much better form.

Anton had a shoddy year last year. That crash on the Angliru seriously knocked the stuffing out of him. He wasn’t physically quite right for ages.

by Albertina on Apr 16, 2010 10:58 AM EDT up reply actions

still...

he bites in the tt even when healthy. I do hope he holds on though.

Well I'd love to say this were the case...but no.

I feel sure Anton and I would be great friends if I had the chance to meet him, but in this matter I went on good solid faith and some intuition. He was in good form last week and I know he’s hungry. Woop woop woop!

by Albertina on Apr 16, 2010 10:52 AM EDT up reply actions

Great week for Euskaltel Euskadi

They need all the wins they can get with their main sponsor withdrawing at the end of season.

by Toadie on Apr 16, 2010 11:04 AM EDT up reply actions

SamSan's words, not mine

I read it in an interview back in January(no links this time, I found it most probably on a Spanish website). It struck me as odd, considering Basques managed to make it such a succesful and healthy operation with Orbea as a feeder team. Things could have obviously changed since then, but from what I recall team’s ProTour licence runs out at end of this year and there might not be any interest on behalf of current sponsor to continue investing in the squad – mind that’s only me speculating.

by Toadie on Apr 16, 2010 11:25 AM EDT up reply actions

I read that interview too.

I’d be really surprised if Euskaltel pulled the plug I have to say, but who knows what goes on… Hopefully, if they do, they’ll be someone to step in. It seems to me there are quite a few companies into sports sponsorship in the Basque Country. Sport is a big part of identity. My fingers are crossed.

by Albertina on Apr 16, 2010 11:31 AM EDT up reply actions

True.

My bet is they’ll find a new one. The team is a pretty big thing back home in Euskadi.

by Albertina on Apr 16, 2010 11:18 AM EDT up reply actions

nice to see the "old" Anton!!

this is kind of stages that Machado usually have a hard time!

by semprenaroda on Apr 16, 2010 11:32 AM EDT reply actions

I'm still hugely impressed by Machado

He was the first to respond to Contador’s push and was able to reduce the time gap to the best of his ability despite some serious attacking at the front.
I for one hope that Bruyneel leaves him out from Tour de France squad and allows him to ride in smaller races as a captain for his team. For starters this year’s Tour of Poland course would suit him well, despite lack of TT stage + I would have a chance to see him live again.

by Toadie on Apr 16, 2010 11:58 AM EDT up reply actions

i didn't see the stage today

but i hope he take a rest in July like you said, because in previous years he had always this great form until that month. After this, at least in Volta a Portugal he seemed tired.

Honestly, i don’t believe he will ride the Tour this year. What i like to see it was he take a rest and then prepare to ride the Vuelta.
