that decide which teams will participate in the Grand Tours, in addition to a couple of invites. You may be right, but I still think that a number of riders would be better off not riding the tour.

Cadel is pretty durable...

I think he could ride a big Giro (hopefully win it) and still give a good account of himself in the Tour. Certainly no one would be expecting him to win the Tour, and given the depth of the competition even a top 10 would be quite respectable.

In my defence

it FELT like a monument with all those names in it.

In some ways, a tougher win than this year’s PR or RVV – where it seemed there were basically two riders who could win and four or five who might cause a nuisance.

Here, it was the full TdF field loaded for bear, and total carnage from 20kms out.

Ha! Calling me a hater is kinda pathetic, no?

As you no doubt read above, I celebrated the fact that Cadel proved me wrong. And next power poll will say the same thing.

by ursula on Apr 21, 2010 11:04 AM EDT up reply actions

Just being my "pathetic" self.

You said we could call you a hater in the power poll. I’m sure you will do Cadel justice in the new Power Poll. For you to write a good article, and you did, you have to stick your neck out and of course you won’t always be right. This is clearly a situation where like the comedian being heckled on stage you can say something like “Hey you write the next Power Poll and I’ll be the A-hole”.

I guess I'm not as surprised that Cadel won as I am that

Anton and Contador did so well. I am shocked that J-Rod didn’t win, this race is made for him. Clearly Anton will be taken more seriously from now on and won’t be given space. Obviously the same can be said about Cadel. If he can keep timing his attacks this well in the future, he will no doubt pick up more one day wins. Chapeau Cadel!

Whoops,

the code responsible for top 10 lists at result pages didn’t take team status into account (valid/submitted). Doesn’t change much, because most teams were submitted, in this case only the 10th spot:
