Seeing Tom Boonen walk through a crowd in Belgium
Is like seeing Tiger Woods golf in person. Every single person is saying “that’s Tiger Woods! Tiger Woods! Tiger! That’s him!”
Jens Voigt doesn’t know where you live, but he knows exactly where you will die.
Only Record 11?
not Super Record? I thought they paid Tom well, I guess athletes are just like you and I after all.
SuperRec may be viewed as a bit too flimsy
Or the bearings are less serviceable (more ceramic bearings?). Guys like Boonen like dependable stuff over a few grams of weight saving. See also Gilbert’s aluminium bike instead of carbon. (at least last year, not sure about that new cobble themed bike)
Nice video, videographer seemed to really be into the bike.
Props to Boonen, dude handles it all very well. Especially like what I see in him this year.
Responding to reporters about this being his third race as runner-up he had this to say:
“It makes me the best regular rider of the peloton.”
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
I've always
appreciated Tom’s sense of humor! Seeing and hearing what it’s like in Belgium or even Europe, makes me really appreciate getting to meet/see him at the ToC.
+1
he speaks very well, in whatever language he may be using, and doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously.
"Ants don’t worry, they operate like a fantastic team, they accept obstacles and deal with them in a positive manner, they don’t complain and remain positive. An ant doesn’t work on emotion, is proactive and always chooses the ant role."
