Smithfield Nocturne

So for the PdC-ers in London this weekend sees the opportunity to view some top-quality bike racing in the nation's capital at the Smithfield Nocturne. This year its extended and expanded probably thanks to the largesse of new sponsor HTC and the hook-up with the London Festival of Architecture

Highlight of the evening is the Elite Criterium which starts at 9 pm. Run on a tight fairly twisty course around London's main meat market it usually sees exciting racing. The field is mostly UK pros and elites but there's usually an entry or two from the ProTour - this year Matt Goss is slated to race and must be the favourite.

To get everyone warmed there's a series of other events including amateur and women's crits, a longest fixie skid comp and the legendary Le Mans style folding bike race - suits a ties required.

Plus there's plenty of stalls, sideshows, bars and foodstands around the course if there's ever a dull moment.

PdC will be represented by myself and Albertina but if anyone else is in town do come and join us - see email addresses on our member pages.

Look out for a report soon...
