versus.com TdF $$ online streaming?
Sorry for the bandwidth -- I'm about to cancel the $60/month Comcast cable [there will be much rejoicing], but need to be sure we have our TdF covered.
Ok, I *swear* there was an ad on Versus during the Tour of California that indicated you could purchase online on demand viewing of the 2010 Tour de France on versus.com. However, I've just clicked all over their cycling pages and their TdF pages, and I can't find anything about buying July on demand viewing of the Tour.
Was I imagining this? Does anyone have a link to info on a Versus TdF subscription?
Thanks!!

it's better than watching it on your tv as far as no filler, no commercials

I forwarded you the email I got from them
But it’s basically the same as the link orangekick posted. $29.99.
Just to be clear...
I believe that’s a live stream, not an on-demand stream. (I would be pleased to hear that this assumption is incorrect.) Please plan on adjusting your sleep schedule accordingly.

live, clips, vod (video-on-demand)... same as last year

Yup. On the weekdays, it was nice to go home and watch the VOD,
instead of watching the Roll/Hummer show on Versus primetime. You have to put up with P&P, but it’s bettter than Roll/Hummer. (There’s got to be a joke in there, somewhere.)
Ahh! This sounds very good, then...

see, if people only read further down the thread, all this info has been previously provided

it wasn't all that bad last year. hopefully aso will provide a higher quality video this year.

I'm seriously considering signing up
How smooth were the live streams last year? Were there any problems?
Also, were they showing entire stages live?

i didn't have any probs with the live stream. the video/stream quality was on par with a 400kbps, as opposed to universal's 800kbps or better quality last year.
live coverage was the same as that released to all the outlets, matt keenan did the beginning and end. no filler. no commercials. tho, a large portion of the prologue last year had no commentary, and then sometimes an overlay of the japanese commentary, but that was the only glitch.
let me put it this way, the online streaming coverage netted the equivalent of 40 2-hour dvds. the broadcast version (once i edited out the commercials and filler crap) barely made 21 2-hour dvds.
just note, access is usually only good for the month of july, so if you missed something, best check the vod out before access is shut off.

My $0.02: Considering I didn't have to endure the neverending
SAAB (Born from Jets,) Extenz (Bob has Erectile Dysfunction,) and Michelob Ultra Light (‘ol "what’s his name") commercials, as well as VS’s outrageously violent and offensive cage-fighting commercials…well, it was worth every penny.
