Nature Valley Grand Prix photos; Women's Minneapolis Criterium
The Nature Valley Grand Prix came to my neighborhood on Friday evening. My neighbors down on the corner had a race-watching party in their yard, so I took a bunch photos of the women's race, then watched the men's race with the party.
At the start line.
The start
The race came right down my street!
I confess that I'm not familiar with a lot of the domestic racers, but I recognized Fan of Dan Emilia Fahlin.
Race leader (in the yellow jersey) Alison Starnes rounds a corner.
The top three on the stage were Chloe Hosking, Brooke Miller, and Shelley Evans.
Shelley Evans took over the race lead.
All of the jersey holders on the podium

It must be the Fruit By the Foot Youth Jersey.
Russian Vladimir Karpets is not only known for his mullet but also for his radical facial hair; he is not known for much else.
hope not, that’s an awesome jersey

these jerseyz are awesome, just checked em out
Evans now leads the yellow jersey charge with 19 seconds over the second place Starnes. Kim Anderson (HTC-Columbia) was awarded the Freewheel Bike Most Aggressive Rider Jersey. Evans widens her Wheaties Sprint Jersey lead, Starnes keeps the Fruit By The Foot Best Young Rider Jersey and the Jelly Beans Sport Beans Queen of the Hills Jersey, and Chloe Forsman (Specialized D4W/Bicycle Haus) keeps the Nature Valley Top Amateur Rider Jersey.

the other thing about all those leaders jerseyz
is that they’re made locally by twin six. I have some of their stuff, really like it.

just a note....many Fan of Dan riders at Nature Valley....
including Ali Starnes (TIBCO), Brooke Miller (TIBCO) and Evie Stevens (HTC Columbia)
So cool
Really thought I was going to make it this year, and no dice.
Next year, in Jer, Cannon Falls!
You really should come next year, if you can swing it.
Today I rode to Stillwater to see the final stage criterium there, which is always a lot of fun because it features a really steep hill. Next year, I’ll try to also get to the Saturday stage in southern Wisconsin. It’s fantastic biking in that area.

yeah I was there last year, had a good time.
Can’t believe in all my time there I never rode those hills in WI, I’m dumb.
How was the criterium in Stillwater? If I’m not mistaken the race was won there last year on a final charge up that hill – gained just enough sec.s to win?

The Stillwater crit was great again this year!
My friend and I were right at the top of the climb for the last few laps. My friend thought Scott Zwizanski, who had a three-second lead over Rory Sutherland on gc, would hang on for the win, but I said, nope, Sutherland would take it. On the the second-to-last pass up Chilkoot Hill, Sutherland took off like a rocket, and immediately got a small gap, which he held until the finish.
I just found myself in one of the cyclingnews photos from Chilkoot Hill. That’s me on the far right: black bike shorts, blue jersey, red hair.

So that's where HTC-Columbia have been hiding
When I was a kid we used to have the local fair set up in our road with the coconut shy right outside our house. I don’t know whether this is cooler. It’s close. Really, really close.
oh shoot. I didn't know you were there
Made it to NVGP for the first time this year and it was fun. And got to admit that Chikoot HIll is one mean steep climb. ouch.
