Podium Cafe kit, in action
Two weeks ago, I rode the Best of the Bay Century, which traveled 118 miles and 10,000 vertical feet down the SF East Bay. At Mile 92, it hit the dreaded Cat 1 Sierra Road climb, last seen at the 2006 Tour of California -- 3.7-ish miles at nearly 10%, with the first couple of hundred meters at 15%+. It was a sadistic piece of rock, especially for someone who sucks at cycling like me.
But I finished! How could I not? I was sporting this great kit, and had to do it justice:
To be clear, this isn't bragging. I really DO suck. I was just showing off the kit, even if I need to do a better job of sucking in my gut when taking pictures like this one (I can stand to lose another 5-8 lbs).
I'll be wearing this kit at Death Ride in less than two weeks, so if you see me, say "hi"!
Update: Here is the elevation map for that ride:
For those of you who know the East Bay, that's Mama Bear, up Happy Valley, up Wildcat Canyon, to Skyline, down to Canyon, up South Pinehurst, down (and up) Redwood into Castro Valley, up Palomares, up Calaveras, up Sierra.

If you do the Sierra Road
after 92 miles, you do NOT suck.
Good job and good luck on the Death Ride
I had to google to find this, but heard it a long time ago and like the quote...so here ya go:
Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.
It’s by Arthur Ashe (the tennis player)
I think it’s great that you chose to do this ride, knowing this climb was in it and you made it – totally cool! I have to admit that I struggle with motivation a lot and really deal with just getting myself to make the commitment to get out there and “do”. So, hearing you struggled but did it is fantastic and motivating.

I tend to average about 4 on climbs. You look like you're smashing it in that first pic! :-)

Remember to zip up
when you cross the line at the Death Ride!
(and, uh, wear sunscreen. These jerseys? Not so much with the UV protection. As much of a PdC supporter that you are, I suspect you don’t want it burned into you. . .)
How many times did you say "suck"?
Give yourself a break man, great ride, that’s some miles and climbing you put in their. Thanks for sharing.

Heh
In my mind, I will no longer suck when my CP20 reaches 260 watts. Why? I don’t know. That’s what’s stuck in my mind. Right now, I’m at about 232 watts.
suck is not the preferred nomenclature.
92 miles, THEN climbing sierra! dude, you don’t suck.
Rodania,,,,,,,Rodania,,,,,,,Rodania,,,,,,,Rodania
And seriously
imagine how bad you’re making the riders behind you feel.

Death Ride?
Another great name for an American race. Like The Triple Bypass, Mountains of Misery, etc
Us Europeans are much kinder and gentler. I mean how hard could a race called La Marmotte be?
moo
Hey, Will! I've arranged a lovely little gentle ride for you!

Nothing to worry about, I assure you (mwahahahahahaha)

Isn't it?
I love its little fluffy tummy…don’t you just want to give it a hug?

That quote totally changed the way I see that photo now.

I know! You reallt can see this fluffy darling in two completely different ways :)

I was thinking more allong the lines of
Tim: There he is!
King Arthur: Where?
Tim: There!
King Arthur: What? Behind the rabbit?
Tim: It is the rabbit!
King Arthur: You silly sod!
Tim: What?
King Arthur: You got us all worked up!
Tim: Well, that’s no ordinary rabbit.
King Arthur: Ohh.
Tim: That’s the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
Sir Robin: You tit! I soiled my armor I was so scared!
Tim: Look, that rabbit’s got a vicious streak a mile wide! It’s a killer!
Sir Galahad: Get stuffed!
Tim: He’ll do you up a treat, mate.
Sir Galahad: Oh, yeah?
Sir Robin: You manky Scots git!
Tim: I’m warning you!
Sir Robin: What’s he do? Nibble your bum?
Tim: He’s got huge, sharp… er… He can leap about. Look at the bones!
King Arthur: Go on, Bors. Chop his head off!
Sir Bors: Right! Silly little bleeder. One rabbit stew comin’ right up!

Trip to France in July?
Drop the kids with grandparents? Yeah, I would wager she’ll agree.

yeah, don't forget the 2 HHH races
one is the horribly hilly hundred or hundreds, in Wisconsin, the other is the Hotter than Hell Hundred, in Texas I think (might have that last name wrong but you get the picture)
I'm feverished, or the way you want to spell it

Well done Markos!
Like people said above, that sounds like one beefy ride.

Did people ask you what kit you are wearing?
I hope you told them that it is the kit of the future new Pro Tour team! LOL
"The structure of our sport needs to change towards a model of other successful professional sports like soccer, tennis, Formula 1," Johan Bruyneel.
Yup
Love to evangelize for the site. The other day, I passed a rider on a casual bike, riding with his friend. He huffed and puffed to catch me, and turns out he’s a big fan of this site, and had ordered his own kit as well. So we rode for a bit chatting about how awesome PC is.
That’s a topic that never gets old.
