Stage 7 Race Report
This is a quick attempt to give a feel for what it's like to see a stage live. I was about half way up the last climb. And yes, I enjoy the publicity caravan.

ooh...nice throws
almost better than a coconut at a Mardi Gras parade, and without having to beg ’throw me something, mister"! :)
I’m really enjoying your videos, Will. nicely done.
Woo, free detergent!
Hehe, that looked like a lot of fun. And your videos are getting better and better – great production values (I liked the fancy bit on the Chavanel caption).
That detergent came in very useful for us at the Tour last year!
Piles of sweaty cycling gear in a camper=so not nice ;)
Nice marmotte
you are an inspiration.
i’m thinking of quitting work in the spring and moving to france. god bless your videos and thank you!

Why are you wearing a mini-skirt on your head?
actually don’t answer that!
Love the videos – you capture a great atmosphere!
I was at the finish of Stage 7.
Great atmosphere, particularly with two Frenchmen doing so well on the stage.
Here are some snaps!
Cav looking tired -

Michael Barry, flanked by Pauwels and Boasson Hagen -

Ciolek, Farrar, and others, stuck in a traffic jam to get back to their buses -

Graham Watson, smiling because he’s being photographed for a change -

I’ll post more later, but I’m going out now to watch today’s stage.
Great pics! Thank you both.

Didn't miss the storm
I’ll probably do a fan post describing what it was like getting back to Les Rousses. Chaos and then some. But all part of the adventure. ;)

Was at the finish as well
The roar that went through the crowd when the announcer said Chavanel had it in the bag was tremendous. Good to hear the crowd give it up for Voeckler as well. Footage doesn’t do justice to how fast Chavanel came in. Have photos and video as well, will post when i can.

Very Nice Atmosphere
I love it…I gotta get over there sometime in the next 20 years! Before I’m too old.
Found some houses in the area for sale at 220k to 250k Euros, maybe I should retire there in ten years?
Lovely
Was a bit further up at about 5 to go. Got some good photos / video I’ll post when I’m back. Descended with Wiggins and Lokvist – luckily no Schlecks in sight.
