Unlike the rest of the scenery in this race, which is exceedingly drab.

You almost can't stop yourself from gushing how beautiful this whole stage has been...
And can I just say that HD is incredible.
We've had HD for a few years, but I agree :)

I know it doesn't mean much..
but has anyone considered that in 2008 Luis Leon won Stage 7, then last year he won Stage 8…so what’s going to happen this year? Logic says he will continue the trend by taking this Stage 9 ;)
I’m slightly bored and just begging for the win you see. Oh and hey Rojas near the front of the peloton :D
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
My only Caisse love is for Soler... who isn't here?
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Really?
No, Soler is unfit again. What’s wrong with the rest of the boys? :(
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
I don't know... I think it's the fact that there's almost no media in English about them...
(Yes I know about your website). ;)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
I don't have time for the blog much these days :(
They have a fans blog which is in French but easily translatable. I could tell you almost everything you needed to know if you ask :p
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
The issue with any team for me is getting non fan based stuff in English...
I obviously get fandom, but I need other types of info :)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Ah ok
I’m just persistent with slowly trying to be able to read more Spanish and translation service :p
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Go girl! I admire your commitment.
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Well i can't rely on the English speaking websites
So it’s up to Spanish newspapers and sites!
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
Google Translate actually does pretty well with Spanish.
Comes out fairly coherent most of the time.
Dans le final, j'avais des jambes de feu--Sylvain Chavanel, after his win on Stage 7
Riders' chests are not their selling points..
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Certainly not the climby guys, anyway.
Dans le final, j'avais des jambes de feu--Sylvain Chavanel, after his win on Stage 7
Name 5 good chests... we must exclude Thor and Cance... oh, what, that's it?
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Why are you excluding Thor and Cance?
Dans le final, j'avais des jambes de feu--Sylvain Chavanel, after his win on Stage 7
Because out of 190 here at the moment, we should exclude the obvious favourites... too easy.
Knees is my contribution…
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Then you really want seven, not five, and if I'm reading you correctly, you also want to limit the field to current participants in the Tour.
Any other restrictions you want to put on this challenge?
Dans le final, j'avais des jambes de feu--Sylvain Chavanel, after his win on Stage 7
No... that works for me :)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Okay: Hincapie, Burghardt, Armstrong.
EBH and Ciolek aren’t bad, for cyclists. I don’t think I’ve seen them shirtless, but I suspect Eisel and Farrar wouldn’t look half bad. Probably also Boom.
I wonder who’s going to Curacao this year?
Dans le final, j'avais des jambes de feu--Sylvain Chavanel, after his win on Stage 7

Yeah, he was one of the first ones out of the peloton after the start flag.
You should have seen him on the descent off the start, on the way to the first climb; the rest of the guys trying to breakaway with him could barely keep up with him!
Seriously. He was throwing his knees out and skimming low around
the corners, just like he was on a moto. Really impressive.

feeding zones
Anyone know if there are any concrete rules to do with these? I take it they grab the musette, and then fill their pockets and can eat whenever they want? I ask because I always associate the zones with eating…but the one they just went through was on a cat1 climb! Personally, there’s no way I can eat while climbing…though obviously these guys are in slightly better shape ;) I thought there was some rule about not being allowed to eat in the last however many km of the race?

Will the fact that Euskies can climb neutralise the fact that they’re a danger in feed-zones?

I think the leaders will be riding tempo on Madeleine
I think the other leaders think that Alberto is beatable this year, so they are going to keep their powder dry until the last week instead of making a desperate move this early in the race. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see anyone launching an attack with such a long descent and 10k flat run in.

I'm wondering if some riders, who are good when they are very young,
loose something when they complete their growth.

I'm thinking that some guys will continue to muscle up
in their early and mid 20s. That can hurt their climbing.
I'd say
he is now what he was meant to be. That Giro was a fluke, in that guys like Cunego are only good for maybe one non-French grand tour and he happened to win his first.

On Saturday he was well off the pace
when he had the opportunity. Infact I was betting on him to win on Saturday’s stage.

Your Ed League standing suddenly makes sense.
Dans le final, j'avais des jambes de feu--Sylvain Chavanel, after his win on Stage 7
Voigt looks like he has a paunch
And the iPhone turns Voigt into ‘Booby’
something tells me
he would laugh his ass off at that.

Why are all those Frenchies burning their matches
When tomorrow is Bastille day?
Jens Voigt doesn’t know where you live, but he knows exactly where you will die.
Oh no
Phil just said Gautier is though of as a future maillot jaune. That kills it.
