Way to go Ryder! I hear some evil laughing from sideburns somewhere in the background.

Taking the win would have been a worse move that chain-gate

He did the right thing…I’m not sure if he did it for all the right reasons or not (I’m no mind reader).

Contador’s just good: that was a real fight.

Schleck’s dig to get back to Contador’s attack was major.

He's still young, I predict he'll get stronger over the next year

Contador, OTOH, is close to his peak.

This will be a great battle.

Oh yes

he just needs to not have any problems, and be aggressive throughout, and we may see him challenge Contador much closer for GC.

For as much crap as Gadret has gotten

Once LA was out of things, the Shack essentially became 9 separate guys riding this race. The only noticeable teamwork was when LA and Horner were in the same break and even then they didn’t seem to know what to do with it.

9 seperate guys riding the race for team GC that is

it ended up looking odd and somehow may propel Chris Horner to an improbable top 10, but it had some results (kinda).

Interesting day

But is the Consensus that this stage win was a gift? I think that this is pretty clear, no?

by Doctornurse7 on Jul 22, 2010 11:45 AM EDT reply actions

call it a sorta gift:

if Contador could have attacked and dropped Schleck in the last k, he would have.

Since he couldn’t, he didn’t.

that winning on the Tourmalet was nice but it was secondary. Being in yellow in Paris is what is important.
I think this king of answers it: He didn’t put much effort. Just that.
