What Christian Prudhomme says:

The last stage of Le Tour, with its prestigious finish on the Champs-Élysées, will also be the year’s shortest, with only 102.5 kilometres on the counter. Sometimes, stages have been shorter due to restrictions imposed by adverse weather conditions, but in normal racing conditions you have to go back to 1989, to the stage between Bourg d’Oisans and Villard-de-Lans, to find a shorter one. It was only 91.5 kilometres long and was won by Laurent Fignon. He thought that the fifty seconds lead he held over Greg LeMond would be sufficient for victory in Paris, but in the end, he lost by only eight seconds.

Thanks so much for doing this the past three weeks. It's been great fun Phil.

I'm in... I'll have to study scrappy, Spanish climbers for the next five weeks...

I wonder if Richie Porte will be riding…

The GC field may be pretty similar to the Tour

and Nibali and Anton are to be watched. Richie riding would be neat but likely as support for the Schlecks.

That's cool... I think he'd be proud to work for the Schlecks :)

I hope Nibali goes to win

my VDS team missed him and Frank and the bundle of points they could’ve brought during the Tour, so I’m hoping they can put in a good showing, even though that’s asking a bit too much of Frank I think.

Do you think Richie should do 2 GT's this soon?

I think he should just play it cool for the rest of the season.

Probably not, although he is 25...old by Vlaanderen's standards ;)

25 and a half ;)...Noooo, he is different since it is his first full season and he is a neo-pro really.

I mean Riis knows better than but he is going to be a stage racer most likely soo its either the Vuelta or a bunch of small stage races and maybe some one day’s. He had 50 racing days all ready so he will prob. want to get like 20 more.

I would love too but if Universal puts up a paywall or has no commentary I will likely be getting my Vuelta footage from

Hope I can get in if it all works out!!

so I will not be able to reliably guarantee being able to watch todays stage today sometimes it takes a couple of days for nice people to share their coverage with the less fortunate among us.

McEwen winning this stage would be great.

Perhaps they should motivate him by finding that bloke who knocked him off the other day. Position him just past the finish and see how fast Robbie goes…

I don't know if he has the energy to maintain the rage... it's been a horrible three weeks for him.

The only way to come around I guess is to switch it up.

When do you get to see that?

Thanks Phil I have had an absolute blast doing this.

After I watched most stages and before I went to work I would jump on the computer, and my wife would ask me what I was doing, “Putting in my predictions for tomorrows stage of course” as if this would be the most obvious and natural thing for one to do.

I loved this game. Oh and did I actually finish on the podium or was it a tie for fourth?

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
