lol yea
yes, that is the disgustingest, loathsomest, inappropriatest word in the English language. Just adding -est instead of ‘most’ does not a sensible language make.

Do you think that she keeps a little list.
I once heard of someone who claimed that he could remember the licence plate number of every car that had ever overtaken him, so infrequently did it happen and so sorely did he take it.
of course I would!
this is great. access to these riders is exactly what the sport needs.

you need to be good on both sides to win. in the us there are just not the number of good riders like there are in europe.

makes sense
The best Americans are fast, but in Europe, there are more riders who are at the top level.
So do the boys in HTC get jealous at your number of wins? ;-)
and did you ever want to bang Greipel & Cavendish’s heads together?
hey, if they work together and add their totals together maybe they could challenge Ina!

How many laps do you have to do? (Sorry Dutch.. Grammarwise I.. eeh do not OK)
not sure how many laps we do. i do know geelong from the days we had world cup there. the neighbourhood where the course goes through is pretty hilly so i reckon it wont be as easy as lots of people predict

How is women’s cycling perceived in Germany these days? My sense is that fans are still pretty turned off to the men’s scene, but maybe your success can help change the attitudes generally?

Have you been surprised by the appearance of so many good Dutch riders this year
Last year the Italian tactic seemed to be “isolate Vos” This year I can’t see that working
no. the dutchies have been developing a lot of youg girls. we sometimes start with 200 girls at a semi clasic in holland and they all race hard so i recon it is just normal seeing them being the best nation right now

not as planed as men racing and races start straight away and dont have a certain warm up period so it is fun to watch.

That's definitely been my impression
from the races I’ve been able to see. The racing is hard all the way through and there’s less team control. Fun!
I guess it's more annoying for you
when it’s 100 attacks off the front on what for the men would be a simple “we all ride together to ahve a bunch sprint at the end” ;-)

Mine is south of France: sunny, hilly but not too much, mountainous if you want, possibility of beach rides, reasonably friendly traffic.

There are limits set on how long and hard womens races can be
How do women riders feel about those? Are they reasonable?
i think limit is 150k…we do lots of one day classics which are 140k and i reckon that is enough or we would have that warm up period the guys have which does not make the race more exciting
by yokoteute on Aug 17, 2010 2:39 PM EDT up reply actions 5 recs

It’s a long enough distance to knacker you on the day, but not so far that you need Knee surgery a couple of years after you retire

Keeping women racing
You’ve had a longer stay in the women’s peloton than most. This is due in no small part, I imagine, to your winning ways and resulting paychecks. From that perspective, do you think that women have a shorter stay (compared to men) in the pro peloton because they feel like they need to find another way to make a living?
for sure. for most of us it is a hobby and i am lucky to make a good living so i can stay longer in it.
by yokoteute on Aug 17, 2010 2:42 PM EDT up reply actions 7 recs

How much do you follow bike racing yourself?
I’ve heard about riders who rarely or even never look up race results and things like that. While others are fans just as much as racers. What about you?
Badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger...
i look up results. watch boys races on tv

What do you want to be doing in 10 years time?
(when you’re not walking the dog, eating vegemite and drinking wine! ;-))
would be great if that would be what i was just doing in ten years time ;). no clue yet what will be in store for me after racing

the bike
How important is the equipment? Girls new to racing are intimidated by the cost of bikes.
very. being with a guys team who does a lot of testing with all the material shows that it can make a difference.
when you start i think you first need to learn to raide and train as that is still more important to get somewhere.

Thanks to everyone involved in setting this up
I don’t know much about women’s racing yet, but the more I learn, the more I can appreciate the races.
That's the idea :)
If you like men’s racing enough to hang out on this site, chances are about 99% you’ll love women’s racing too.

Mine
would be shaped like a glass beer mug and display the name of whatever I am drinking that day. Because the mug must always match the contents.

At a "Belgian Bar" in Philly, they set a bottle of Ename
next to a Duvel glass. I yelled “what is this shit?!” while throwing the glass against the wall.
Well, not really. But I know you know how I felt.
Actually
I would have believed you.

We never did get an answer to that pronounciation question
Is it TOOT or TOY-T. And do you pronounce the e on the end
hehe
genau
I'm feverished, or the way you want to spell it

you pronounce the e as well, silent letters we give middle fingers to. Kinda tough to write how you pronounce it though, the German e is pronounced like eh but in this case I would say toyt-ugh. Which again looks ridiculous in writing.

Now I would pronounce that Twu
But then you have the e on the end which, if you’re following French pronunciation rules, brings the T into play (Where’s Humph when you need someone to explain the rules – but unfortunately he’s a bit dead) and suddenly you’re calling her Twut. Which is just asking her to reply with the Armstrong manoeuvre.
Ooo this looked fun...sorry to miss it.
Thanks for asking ‘my’ questions though ;)
