Team Leontien.nl is ambitious
Translated from wielerland.nl
There is a very good chance that the international women's cycling team of Michael Zijlaard will be fighting with the very best next year. The team, now known as Leontien.nl but from next year on probably back as AA Drink, is searching the transfer market for the absolute top available riders right now. Zijlaard is not denying that names such as Annemiek van Vleuten (Nederland Bloeit), Grace Verbeke (Lotto) and Trixi Worrack (Noris) have been approached. "But there's also Kirsten Wild, Regina Bruins, Martin Bras and Adrie Visser. We want to find out if it's possible to get a top international squad together again, and all available world class riders are interesting for that project. Though it's of course true that there is a certain preference for Dutch and Belgian riders, because they're more interesting for a sponsor like AA drink." Zijlaard would like to keep all the riders in his 2010 squad for next year, even though Lianne Wagtho and former national champ Marlijn Binnendijk have already stated that they don't see a spot for themselves in an international top squad. Zijlaard assumes Chantal Blaak will stay, and he's talking to both Irene van den Broek and Andrea Bosman about extending their contract.

“Fan of sustainable, fan of cycling.” The fake Leontiens, or help-Leontiens as they are called in the clip, are analogous to men in Santa costumes posing as the real Santa Claus (in Holland: hulp-Sinterklaas or help-Saint Nicolas).

Cultural hijack!

It's better than the blue & green one,
I’ll grant you that. ;-)

Ooo, that is interesting
I’m sure the team van still has the AA Drink paintjob all over it, unless they flogged it to someone else who couldn’t afford to repaint it.
But how many full-time riders did they have last time they were AA Drink? I’m sure I’ve read that Kirsten Wild still had her day job until she moved to Cervelo, and she was one of their stars then.
Used to happen in this country too

I miss the really obvious most of the time
subtle is way way below my sensors. I still can’t see anythign arsey there, even when you’re holding a big pointy stick to show the way.
