Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. Working on paving the finishing stretch (the riders will be coming towards the camera). Note that the road dips down on the horizon...this is not a flat finish.

In Montreal

there must be no flat finishes!

not if it anywhere near downtown

We held a crit out on the west part of the island, and it had a flat finish…

New pavement?

You mean they wont experience the famous Montreal horrible road surface? You know, the asphalt that feels like cobbles?

That’s a shame…

(seriously, that is good news)

don't worry

by this time next year that pavement will be ruined.

"Ants don’t worry, they operate like a fantastic team, they accept obstacles and deal with them in a positive manner, they don’t complain and remain positive. An ant doesn’t work on emotion, is proactive and always chooses the ant role."

I've actually Google Streetviewed both the Quebec and the Montreal parcours.

And I was surprised by how awful the road surfaces were. But in terms of surroundings and toughness of the parcours it looks like these races will be really cool.

I'm feverished, or the way you want to spell it

so you understand our excitement that they are repaving pretty much the entire course

Just have milder winters

It’s cheaper in the long run.

milder winters?

isn’t mother nature already working on that with our help?

We're working on it.

Its a diabolical scheme we have called Global Warming!!!

I didn’t see your response when I made mine, should have finished reading thread.

By the way, who plans on going to the races?

I will obviously be there (with celerity’s orange Podium Cafe flag that made the trip to Flanders) for both events.

I don’t know where exactly in Québec, but in Montréal, on the right side of the road near the Mt. Royal belvedere.

wow you’re going to both? good for you.

I won’t be at either, maybe next year if Gilbert is there.
