Around SBN: Devils Beat Rangers, Head To Stanley Cup Finals

After 4 years of riding for Lotto it's time for something new. I have had beautiful years with the Lotto Ladies Team and the team plays an important role in my achievements in the past 4 years. But now it's time to change teams and to develop myself as a rider from a new environment. I didn't make a choice yet for which team I am going to ride, it's pondering what would be the best for me.

Grace Verbeke interview from earlier in the month - interesting, she looks like she's leaving Lotto - also interesting for her thoughts on Belgian cycling for the women, and how the sport could improve

hm

Not sure what she means. Money? Lotto not serious enough? Or too focused on certain goals for her??

Something odd happened just before l'Aude

where she was due to ride then suddenly and at the last minute decided she needed to “recharge her batteries”

I did wonder how Grace got on with Lotto

It seems like it’s 2 teams in one – the Anglophone side (including Andréasson), who all use the internet, and seem to hang out a lot, and the Belgian side.

Or it could simply be that she feels like apart from Flanders (yay Flanders!) she hasn’t really improved from last year, and she’s looking to make a change to see if that helps her move up.

I wonder if Lotto will replace her, or if the combination of Tiff Cromwell and Ash Moolman will fill the gap?

Didn't Veronica complain about one of the teammates recently?

That’s quite unusual, to say the least.

I'll be sorry to see her move on

It’s great to see a largely Belgian team with a serious Belgian contender. I hoped that that would perhaps bring in a bit more sponsorship money.

And Sporza action...

…I mean, if a Flandrian winning RVV on a Belgian team wouldn’t make them interested in showing women’s racing next year, nothing will…

Wonder if Grace’ll be riding ’Cross again over the winter?
