TDU in trouble? - S Australia budget leak

The state of South Australia is having to make a lot of budget cuts apparently, and the recommendations were leaked to the media - if you look at pages 248 and 251 of this PDF document you will see that there are recommendations to either reduce the TDU back to pre-ProTour status, or to eliminate it entirely, all to save money (with the mention that if it wasn't ProTour it probably wouldn't survive).

other mentions of the possible TDU budget cut here (a food blog), and in the comments here (a blog entry about Geelong Worlds). At the moment, any Google news search or twitter search for "tour down under" is mostly bringing up stuff about Oprah's planned trip ;-)

looks like TDU was spared in the cuts?

I don’t see any mention of cuts to the TDU budget in articles such as this, so hopefully that means that it has been spared, at least for now. Some of the commentary suggested that the budget leaks were deliberate, ie. so that the cuts actually made appeared not as bad as what they might have been if all recommendations were followed.
