Rabobank is set for 2011
It is a little early but in this transfer market you have to close deals when they are done. After Garmin, Rabobank is the second team to confirm their roster.. And what a joy the roster is next year. Can we already say their transfers were the best in the market.. (Apart from Team Luxembourg but that doesn't really count.. And maybe from Saxo and.. Well ok it's a dynamic market)
In:
1. Luis Leon Sanchez (26. Leader in every Small tour he enters. Is he capable to be a GT leader?)
2. Matti Breschel (26. Finisher in the classics who Rabo missed)
3. Carlos Barredo (30. Attacker and a very good helper)
5. Theo Bos (Sprinter)
5. Maarten Wynants (28. This year the man who could support Boonen the most)
6. Michael Matthews (19. Sprinter, finisher, allrounder?)
7. Tom Jelte Slagter (21. Climber!)
8. Coen Vermelfoort (21. Sprinter. Fast man.)
With this their roster is going to be:
Leaders:
Mollema, Luis Leon Sanchez, Gesink. (3)
Classic:
Boom, Langeveld, Wynants, Breschel, Tjalingii, Leezer (6)
Fast man:
Freire, Brown, Matthews, Vermelfoort, Bos (5)
TT:
Clement, van Emden (2)
Helpers:
Weening, Tankink, Flens, van Winden, Niermann, Tom Jelte-Slagter (6)
Specialists + helpers:
Martens, Kruijswijk, Barredo, Garate, Ten Dam (5)
Totals 28 riders

The headline had me thinking Rabbobank was "DONE", as in...
- dead
- finished
- no more
:) I am not even a big Rabbobank fan and that would have sucked. Glad to see this is just a Rabbo-Love post instead. Carry on…

Next year - I'm going for the Grand Slam (suck it Bert!)
yeah, "set" would work better than "done"

THAT was another thing I thought he meant...

I was also mislead by the Post title.
My first thought was : " Denis, look what you done!"
But then I read it, and Phew! What a relive!
I used to be a big fan of the Racer Formerly Known as Bert! But then again, I used to believe in Santa ,Tooth Fairy and innocence of Floyd!

This may be the first and only time I ever say this, but
I knew exactly what you meant, Frinking.

Michael Matthews
is good at TT and sprint. Maybe next EBH?
Don't think we'll see Mollema leading in many tours next year.
The Ruta del Sol, maybe. But mostly he’ll be playing superdomestique to either Gesink or Sanchez. Actually, I think Kruijswijk and Ten Dam will get to ride more as team leaders. At the Giro, for instance.
Topic best left untouched (*cackle*)
but I did find Albertina a new logo:

New signings Breschel and Sanchez will really keep the Dutch hegemony alive

Right, Spanish Jews got kicked out and became Dutch....
…and then in some cases (see d’Espinosa, Baruch), got excommunicated and became vaguely heretical Christians.
Actually, I was thinking more of the War of the Spanish Succession,
which followed the 80 years’ war, but actually that war (and the handing off of the Spanish Netherlands) involved a lot of countries…and the Spanish Netherlands are actually (it turns out) mostly what’s now Belgium and Lux and bits of the Netherlands and France.
Interesting to think about, in terms of the spring classics, though. They could nearly all be Spanish races. (Or Austrian. Or French, or…well, heck, it’s the Poland phenomenon. Flat country makes good battlegrounds.)
wonder how many people today are related to the Hapsburgs, and where they all are?
The official royals were mighty inbred, but there must have been spare progeny all over the place.
Well now
i can’t wait to start writing offseason team capsules. Rabo have done very very well for themselves.

Only 156 days until Het Whatsit.

Yes, well...
I’ve started in my head. Which is where most posts begin. In theory.
