And no Vacansoleil!
After last year’s 5th place by Hoogerland, Marcato on form, and Riccò the supposed sure entry ticket for the Giro.
Ceci n'est pas une signature.
Indeed the bigger surprise since RCS are well-known cancerlovers since Lance didn't play nice in the Giro
I even seem to recall Hoogerland calling this his main late-season goal?
Hoogie's season goals which he actually got to race:
1. Amstel Gold
2. uhh… that’s it.
How cynical if the reason for their non-invite is Ricco. And it almost has to be.

I dunno
The string of Vacansoleil disses has me wondering if there is something else? They don’t seem to be on good terms with either ASO or RCS. They haven’t done any RCS events and ASO snubbed them for both the Tour and the Ardennes. They aren’t that bad (and there aren’t that many french /italian teams) that they shouldn’t have been in at least some of those races.
It's looks like shunning
I’ve never even heard of Carmiooro NGC. They and ISD-Neri aren’t even top 30 teams (by the World Ranking).
The other wildcard teams are pretty obvious though. They’re either top tier ProConti or ProTour teams or they’re solid Italian ProConti. Vacansoleil would have been last or second to last on the invite list anyways.

Sella!
Question seems to be: Is the RCS shunning a one year sentence or will they be unwilling to see Riccó in their races next year as well?
You know what I just noticed
Off topic, but the article reminded me of World Rankings. Joaquim Rodriquez is probably going to lead the World Rankings at the end of this year. He’s only 54 points behind Contador and I doubt Contador is going to race again this season.
8th at the Vuelta would do it for Rodriquez. Plus whatever races he does (if any).

Hm
close. Gilbert has a lot of work left to do, methinks. Farrar if he wins the WC, although I’m not exactly banking on that. Evans could even cobble some results still.
But yeah, Contador isn’t #1.

I wonder how many of them really care about the UCI #1 spot.
I know Gilbert does, but the others? No idea.
The World Championship Road Race & TT don't count toward the ranking
Only opportunities left are the Vuelta, the Canadian PT events and the Giro di Lomdbardia.
Rodriquez ain’t a shoe-in. But I think he has the best chance.

J-Rod is slightly closer than that.
He’s gained 7 points in the Vuelta already, so only 47 behind now. A few more stage results and he could take over #1 with 9th or 10th in final GC.
I really do not understand the truth.--Riccardo Ricco (per Google Translate)
Good
“you don’t want to race our biggest race? Well we wont let you race our 2nd biggest then you asshats”. Btw I wonder if these races are being hesitant on inviting the Shack because of the Lance thing. As in they don’t want any news coming out during their race which could lead to the Shack being scrutinized while at the race. I’m thinking more a 3 week race(so..the Vuelta) than Lombardia.

I don't think this has anything to do with the Federal investigation.
It’s just petty bullshit, or they just want to see if they can ruffle Johan and get him to tweet something crazy.

I think seeing what type of tweets Johan produces is a very solid reason

Sad for Horner
He doesn’t get a lot of breaks, does he?

He's had the best season of his career this year.
So, clearly, he had plenty of breaks this season. The only thing he didn’t get was GT leadership. Which admittedly, is pretty big.

He ended up getting GT leadership though. Even if it was halfway up the Tourmalet.

Snort.
Hopefully he can get it for the Vuelta next year. If the shack doesn’t implode by then.
