Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Suddenly things make sense! We'd noticed Chirio Forno (a small Italian team - maybe the equivalent of Pro-Conti?) had recently signed a load of American riders, including World ITT Champion Amber Neben.... and now we know why! Colavita is an American domestic team, and while it does mean a technical reduction in the number of women's teams, they'll be going for a UCI licence, and racing in both Europe & the USA, which is great for American riders.

Plus, positive news about women's teams! Yay!

I hope that it gives them a decent budget

Chirio Forno d’Asolo’s team name seems to have been getting longer and longer recently even as their budget shrinks. At least don’t let it end up like Fenixs-Petrogradets where two small teams merged to form one small team.

There may be hope of another decentish team appearing. Tuttobici reported today that Rasa Leleivyte (I’ll get that without checking the spelling one day) will be leaving Safi Pasta Zara Manhattan (or Geox ….) next year to be riding for Vaiano Tepso, otherwise known as the ones who ride in starry pyjamas. She’s been doing pretty well this season, so either the new Geox squad are going for lots of really massive signings and pushed her out, or Vaiano might be stepping up a bit. For now I’d like to believe the latter.
