Stage Predictor Game: Stage 12

After 4 straight days made for the climbers and break specialists the Vuelta will throw a frickin bone at the sprinters again. Stage 12 is the first of two transitional stages which lead to the big 3 mountain days ahead.

What the Vuelta website says:

After having passed though the Pirineo´s country, Andorra, the Vuelta comes back home in order to compete for the 12th stage, a day´s journey starting in Andorra La Vella and finishing in Lleida. For this Thursday 9th September no great emotions are awaited among the possible final winners, so that the sprinters should take this opportunity, as there are not many more like this in this Spanish Round Edition.

The stage, with 172 km, includes a climb 2nd category that counts towards the championship: el Coll de Boixols but it is located in the 54th kilometre, so that a massive sprint is foreseen, something that already happened in the last arrival to the Vuelta to Lleida. It was in 1989and the winner was the English Malcolm Elliot, who is still competing and is almost 50 years old, although in second level teams.

Yippee! I think this puts me in the hunt.

I need to thank Albertina for telling me that AleJet had gone home…that’s why I switched to Goss…freaking blind luck that he sat up coming to the line…

Yes, I will have an Ultra Liberal MoCo Latte please.

The Haedo choice is based on the shaky assumption that he and Cance won’t run into Bajarney in their nightlife travels.

I was really discouraged

to see that Cav was going to be in this race. I did not pick Cav in the TDF and I will not pick Cav in the Vuelta. I see him as green eggs and ham and I will not pick him logy I am.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
