Stage Predictor Game: Stage 13

Big...no..EPIC HUGE stages coming up but first the sprinters get one more chance to shine before they either tough it out through the mountains and ITT or call it quits and head to Australia(to get drunk).

What the Vuelta website says:

Rincón de Soto is a famous place in La Rioja because of its pears, which have been promoted along many years help to the Vuelta a España. But in 2010 it will be the city itself the leading part due to the start of the 13th stage , a day that will bring the riders until Burgos and that can be considered as "leggbreaker" with its 196 km.

Friday 10th September the riders must climb up to the mountain passes of Pradilla and Valmala, both situatedin the last 60 kilometres. There are no big difficulties, but the constant up and down will surely encourage the adventurers and will make doubt the minds of the sprinters´ teams. This stage will finally be a beautiful duel between the ones who need to go on a spree and the ones that need that this day journey ends in a massive sprint. Because up this day begins the particular "via crucis" for the sprinters, so that it would be very strange that they leave to pass this opportunity.

GC and Riders List

Yesterday's Summary: Who says sprint stages aren't important for the GC? Today's stage saw some large shifts in the standings as those who had faith in Cav gained big over everyone else. Who says you can't do the Tour-Vuelta double? Tour champ JustJoshinYa scored a perfect 10 to take the red jersey.

Dammit!

I almost picked Goss for 3rd for the sweep.

Ha! Me too!

I was agonizingly indecisive picking 3 place yesterday. Spend like 20 min choosing between Goss and Haedo.

Hey, Phil, BTW, thanks for doing these contests. Fun stuff. I wish I was around for live chats/race action in the vuelta but I always check in on these pick the podiums – am totally going for the tour-vuelta double now….

Tyler Farrar will easily win and you shall be ashamed at your bashfulness

and I am not impressed until you win the Tour, Vuelta and Giro

I do indeed ski

and am looking to get out to Vail this winter, hoping to find some good deal so it isn’t typical Vail expensive but haven’t been there in two years and am itching to.

yup, I know whatcha mean...

used ta love the front range pass deal (East coats “deals” are no where near what CO has for lift tickets…). Now that I am an East Coaster, I have to shop for deals and I am hoping I can find a flight I can stomach in March. I have a friend who has a friend with a house in Vail. If the flights and prices align, I might be able to stay in Vail free and make the lift tickets worth the price….so, will let ya know and you got a couch or perhaps better if ya want…Would be nice to meet ya (and perhaps rub in my double…cough cough)

(in all fairness I am a snowboarder, though…“ski” is just less letters – so that’s what I asked originally.)

...I'm tired...I meant "East coast 'deals'"...whatever...off to bed...have a good night!

Thanks again for the pick the podium. Finally something I am less then shitty at!

Cool Cool

yep just lemme know. Lucky for me I don’t have to worry about the plane ticket(unless I decide to spend 6000000000$ on a flight from Denver to Vail(if those still exist) instead of driving for two hourse..yeah sounds smart…)

Yea I saw that

but I’ve never seen or heard of him before yesterday. He must be one of those new guys busting in on the sprinters club.

I was actually thinking…

About double domination, rather then celebration.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
