Can you imagine the ratings?

Damn.... you beat me to it.

I was just about to post this.

It’s pretty funny, that’s for sure.

This is probably the best argument I've heard to date

I wonder if cycling were to allow marijuana if doping would go down, I like this idea.

Ghetto minstrel clown is trying to pull a Chris Rock, except not really funny.

If you're intending to be moderately racially/culturally offensive, I think ya managed. Don't do it.

If it’s not intentional—as I don’t know where you’re from, and whether you know that “ghetto minstrel clown” is a pretty loaded phrase—and as you’re new…

Here’s a head’s up.

We go out of our way to avoid intentionally posting stuff that’s likely to cause offense on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, class, blah blah blah. And if we do it by accident, we either explain what we really meant (if someone read the statement wrong) or we just apologize. That’s why you’ll see a lot of NTTAWWT statements when someone wants to make sure they’re not crossing a line. Party politics is also verboten.

In contrast, free form profanity (so long as it’s not directed at a person or group), movie quotes, clever use of stereotype, and ribbing between friends all find a place here. (If someone’s offended by random profanity, they’d, uh, be happier elsewhere.) There’s also a request that pix be PG-13 at worst, if posted directly, and it’s appreciated if not-safe-for-work links are flagged as such. All part of making sure that everyone has a place to appreciate cycling and cyclists, and is not going to be hit with a random put down against their own “group,” whatever that may be.

And no, it’s not “censorship.” Sites are actually owned by an owner, they’re not a public place. This is Chris’s kiddie pool, and he’s got a “no pissing in the pool” sign, so we don’t piss in his pool. Ya wanna piss in the kiddie pool, you get your own kiddie pool, and everyone will support your right to wallow in whatever ya like….over there.

And remember…Rock Racing didn’t suck because of the kids and culture that it tried to involve in cycling—it sucked because the owner was a delusional asshat.

Pix posted directly PG-13... whoa

I so love rocking that boat.

we got a pretty strong rebuke when someone posted full frontal or a crotch shot...

Frinking, maybe, or someone else from part of the globe where it’s no big deal for those sorts of things to be on newstands at kids-eye-view level. Eh, I don’t know what the actual cut off is for PG-13, R and X. I’m thinking PG-13, do a search on that if it’s a “need to know.” I think the same thread dealt with the question of copyright (i.e. attributing, at minimum, asking for permission where appropriate, or going with the link rather than the “insert photo” for pix… and limiting quotes to a teaser and a link, rather than yanking a big old chunk of an article.

It’s also an implicit commentary of sorts on the audience. Don’t worry about it too much. Have an herbal tea.

The video was quite funny though.

…is this about Lance or something?

I'm sure it's just personal taste

You’re way off the mark Opie and went off in a weird tangent there. Nonetheless, this gave us a great window into your salient thoughts: kiddie pools and scrot shots.Thank you for that. My post is actually a commentary about the audience, per se.

So relax, have some herbal tea, and watch Michelle Pfeiffer’s movie Dangerous Minds. It’ll make you happy.

Just a case of someone using the straw-man argument without realizing the irony. I do love the free-flowing stream of consciousness rant though.
