The Catlin Perspective
I've been holding off on this link to see just what would come out from the Sports Illustrated story by Selena Roberts and David Epstein.
It is worth taking the time and reading how Don Catlin unwinds the BS found in the SI article so what facts are actually there can be properly framed in order to create a constructive dialog.
I'd also suggest you to stick around this site for a while and read on some of the posts.
It is quite possibly the most informative collection of information like this you can find online.

Very believable in the rebuttal of the issues with the old samples
(which were the serious innuendo/allegations of the SI story)
The part about his 2005 encounter with the LA lawyer and the 2009 aborted testing program make him sound naive and played by LA at best, and evasive and half-credible at worst.
My bags are guaranteed sand-free.
His meeting in ‘05 seems pretty normal and I’d suspect all the WADA accredited labs would assist a lawyer to better understand just what they do.
I really feel Don was honestly looking that the ’09 testing program as a great opportunity to show really what is needed to create a stable system.
3 tests a week!
That is a terrific frequency which after one year would yield a base line which would be very stable to reference in the future.

“I knew that he also represented Lance Armstrong on some matters. I asked if this was on behalf of Lance Armstrong or any other athlete. The answers were ‘no’. In addition, he added that he knew I had educated groups of attorneys and that was all he was looking for.”
Riiight, because a high profile lawyer visits just to “educate himself”. Saying that just makes him sound silly , which is pointless because there probably isn’t much to complain about that visit anyway.
Also getting on that stage with LA when the program wasn’t anywhere near operational was really poor judgement at best. No matter how honest his ambitions where.
My bags are guaranteed sand-free.
Thanks for sharing this. Nice to hear his side of things.
The SI article left him looking terrible and this allows us to see more of the whole picture.

I never read the SI story
Didn’t see the need, I figured they were just going to parrot what’s out there, and then do what they could to make it sound even juicier. And really, SI and cycling coverage… they don’t deserve the time of day from s fans. Bring on the swimsuit issue.
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
Yeah, at this point it seems they are stretching to make the case sound stronger.
If Novitzky has something really damning, he’s not sharing it yet, so we get stuff like “Investigators are looking into allegations that Lance blah blah blah” which we are supposed to read as “LANCE BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!”
What else can I say? I'm really happy. --Vincenzo Nibali
goodness, another lengthy addition to the doping & otherwise to read list
but thanks, yes

Selena Roberts is not a trustworthy source.
It should be noted that Selena Roberts is the discredited reporter behind the Duke lacrosse team rape hoax a few years ago. Despite the fact that her fictitious stories damaged the lives of innocent young men and their families, she has yet to apologize for them. Nobody should trust her methods, her so-called facts, or her conclusions.
