Remember bigwheels? You need/your pledge needed NOW.
I had an original BigWheel(TM) which I loved as much as anyone could love anything with wheels. I want one of these. It's on kickstarter. They need to get another ~20K in pledges by midnight tomorrow. $649 gets you one, domestic shipping included.
There are plenty of three wheelers of various sorts out there, but this is from the Big Wheel crazies--the purists--the people who are to Big Wheel(er)s what PdC is to cycling, and then some.
Is this fanpost worthy? Well, it's off season--hello stringbike post. There's no time to spare. My (and maybe your) entry drug to cycling needs the love and the money. And you (c'mon) know (c'mon) that you (c'mon) want one (do it, do it, do it).
Comes with tassels, bell, and replacable & recylable rear wheels that last for over 200 miles worth of craziness and power slides.

Woo-hoo!
If I had $649 to throw away…I would totally consider entertaing the idea of thinking about this.
I remember Big Wheels
I remember being poor and still being able to afford one too. Obvy those days are gone.

I bought a big wheel for my nephew a couple years ago...was a throw-back model (same type we all had).
$649 is way too rich for me…

If you still weight 40 lbs,
you can still ride a cheap one.
These things are engineered for adults up to clydesdale.

My 2yr old is 99th percentile, already close to the 40lb mark
He’ll be driving my car by next spring I would guess

$649!!!! Bullshit
The Manufacturing Unit cost on this should easily be sub-$100 USD.
Their Minimum Order quantity is 300 units; which is also either bullshit, or they have done a horrible job at setting up a supplychain for this product.
JFS – ‘Engineered for Adults’ (!) – It’s got plastic rear wheels, which will not last long when 200lbs of powersliding starts happening.
Serioulsy, which this is a cool idea, it is just not that difficult to do and it does not require 80K to do it.
I would not give money to this in this ‘start-up’.
What would Deming do? (+8:00 GMT)
Freewheel on the front, ball bearings on the back
and replaceable / recyclable rear wheels. The plastic ones for kids are going for $50-$90, without those benefits, and without full steel tubing and a cushy seat.

He says it's stable at 45 mph downhill, too.
The guy’s a bigwheel races promoter. So yeah, this is more than it takes to pedal around the neighborhood. Frame will prob. last 30 years, though.

stable at 45 mph! Who the fudge would go downhill on a big wheel at 45mph! they're nutz...although...it might be fun to try once...
