Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd like to wish all the Americans on PdC a very happy Thanksgiving! Sharing the day with friends and family, even if they aren't American, is at the core of this day. I am thankful, among other things, that I have a place to come and share my passion with other like minded wonderful folks,so happy Thanksgiving all! I have to have 75 words so if you could, also put in here what you are drinking with your Thanksgiving dinner. Me, I am drinking Rogue Dead Guy in keeping with the theme.

Exactly, because

we celebrated in October when the weather was still awesome. I did an amazing mtn bike ride in Jasper on Canadian Thanksgiving. Not able to do that now…

I'd rather be riding

Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating it today!

The rest of you—get back to work.

We’re having some sort of sparkling red wine with dinner. Why? Because I’d never heard of it before, so wanted to try it. Mind you, that’s exactly the mindset that led to my unfortunate experience with ChocoVine…

Oh, and it’ll be a nice lamb roast tonight instead of turkey. Mmm…red meat!

Happy Thanksgiving folks!

No idea what my friend is serving drink wise, but I’m in good hands.

Going to take advantage of a mild day out here and get a ride in now – between that and my swim this morning, I should have a nice caloric debt going into this afternoon. :-)

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Ran the Flying Feather Four Miler this morning; very pleased that I could finish since I’ve not been running for a few months. They give a bottle of beaujolais-villages to all (adult) finishers, but this year I am trying some cranberry wine.
I plan to mow the grass/leaves before I start sampling it! Pies are in the oven now.

Okay, here's the menu:

Roast lamb (‘cause they’re even cuter than marmots!)
mashed potatoes
glazed carrots
asparagus
corn souffle
rolls
cranberry-ginger sauce
sugar cream pie
pumpkin cheesecake

I don’t think this morning’s 4.5-mile Drumstick Dash will quite make up for it.

I also made curried squash soup, but we ate that earlier. About half an hour until dinner, and the smell of the lamb is making me drool.

happy t-day all

for just the two of us
bacon-shingled honey-brined turkey breast
multi-colored fingerling potatoes with sauteed leeks and shallots
seasoned whole blue lake green beans
(you understand, this meal takes about an hour and a half tops to cook)

choice of pies from mom’s apple pies (half of each already in the freezer)
    butter pecan apple crumb
    sour cherry crumb
    virginia blackberry crumb
    chocolate pecan

oh, for snacking, we’ve had a boneless heavenly ham with That Mustard.

drinks? not sure what soda hubby’s been drinking, for me, just my regular water.

I guess I was busy doing who knows what all day that I didn't see this post..

Well we start the day sleeping in…!!!! Woke up 8:30 am..!!! Don’t remember last time..
We had coffee together while wife started doing stuff…(food prep)
Went in the trainer for about 1:30 hr (70km) to make room for this..!!
All sort of snacks!! Cheese, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, organic chips? and who knows what else to start…. (was full after this already)
For actual dinner/lunch whatever you want to call it…: potato salad (german style), mush potatoes, stuffing (not in the bird), green beans, green salad and corn bread…
THE BIRD: no turkey here… chicken for a small family is fine… it was stuffed with: green peppers, yellow peppers, red peppers, carrots, mozarella cheese, ham, eggs boiled eggs, salt and pepper to your taste… Oh forgot to say that the bird didn’t have a single bone..!
Drinks? Sangria, beer, soda, ice tea and water…
To finish it??? Tiramisu cake with yummy coffee….!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone..! Have to go to sleep can’t move after all this eating..!

Strava...? Mission accomplished.. Thanks everyone..! Currently at 17..! If we keep going like this we will end up TOP 10..! I am not pushing it but if it happens.... happens..!

psst, when the bread "stuffing" is not in the bird, it's called "dressing"

Thank you. It was a nice day for me in the States for sure.

I was drinking something called Magic Hat (Vermont Micro brewerie) Winter Howl black Lager. Very tasty concoction to say the least.
