Win a lifesize* model of Lizzie Armitstead
* If she were a marmotte. A very small one. Very, very small.
OK it's just a Scalextric velodrome set. And it probably sucks if you draw the outside lane.

bet no one buys it me for Christmas... :-(
"I’m hoping for the Mortirolo-Gavia combination, then we can ride down to Bormio for ice cream." Emma Pooley on the Giro Donne
Scalextric has to be the most overrated and disappointing toy ever
My brother in law(never had it as a kid) bought a set for his kid’s first christmas. I (never had it as a kid either) helped him set it up. Well the kid was just about up on two legs by then. Sometimes. Pull the trigger, car flies down the track, falls off at the corner. Repeat two or three times, learn to slow down round corners and that’s it. A water pistol’s a lot more fun (If you can still get them nowadays).
I never worked it out either
If you make it go fast, it falls over/off the track. So you make it go slow, & it’s boring!
(I’m now being told off, over my shoulder, & told the real way to play it is to make it go as fast as poss, & the person whose car bounces off the wall first wins)
Aka Pigeons!

(since the best thing about track racing is the tactics
I’m not sure how being stuck in a lane is very lifelike…. I guess maybe you have to persuade your opponent to do trackstands?)
