Another Comeback for Craig Lewis
I saw this article and it makes me wonder about and respect Craig Lewis. He might be best known for his accident in the Tour of Georgia when a car pulled out in front of him on a time trial stage. According to Craig's blog, he broke 47 bones and punctured both lungs.
Now he is coming back from a broken femur at the Giro that required a second surgery because the leg was not fully healing. He is going to ride with Champion Systems next year which is a new Pro Continental Team.
It just seems to me that he has been through a great deal to be 26 and that he must really love racing his bike. I hope he keeps the rubber side down and has a great year. I'd love to see an interview with him where he explains his motivation for racing and what it is like to come back from such severe injuries.

Thank you for the link. I am always keeping my eye out for news about him
and wishing him the best. He’s ridden a tough road, literally and metaphorically, in this sport. I would enjoy seeing him get back to the pro tour.
Rooting for him all the way
This guy is phenomenal (all around). He’s tragically turned into a story of ‘what could have been’, but even still, he has managed to shine on occasion. At the Giro this year he was climbing into his potential right before the crash that folded his leg so that his foot was in his ear. I don’t think any of us thought he would make it to a pro tour team after the crash in Georgia. WIll he be able to do it again and move up from Champion System? I’d bet on it happening.

difficult to keep solid talent down.
He will bounce back and Champion System may be the right team to do it on.
That Tour De Georgia crash was brutal
Craig was head down at full speed on the straightaway within 2-3 km from the finish.
A huge dump truck, maybe even a garbage truck, ignored the frantically waving marshall and pulled out directly in front of him.
Craig piled into the side at full speed.

Latest news on Craig is
he had to undergo another surgery on his leg about a month ago because his leg wasn’t healing properly. He’s back on the back but obviously at ground zero. Wishing him all the best.
