Hmmm...Garmin's lineup is interesting

Saving Haussler and Farrar for bigger stuff? I’m surprised to see Navardauskas in there but I’m definitely loving it :D

And QS has a great team assembled too…3 potential winners in Boonen, Chava and Terpstra. Maes is really impressing me in Qatar, should be a strong team player. and I hope Van Impe is back to his pre-2010 form.

Maybe Thor vetoed ever riding KBK again

I think there is some hesitation of doing too much

Nuyens is skipping the weekend altogether to save his health and avoid going into Holy Week with sub-optimal prep. Garmin are probably doing the smart thing by using their deep roster, Thor aims for Nieuwsblad and Farrar for K-B-K and they also leave space for their young guys to ride some of the races that way.

My bags are guaranteed sand-free.

by Jens on Feb 10, 2011 3:42 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, really--GHH and Farrar went 2-3 there last year.

Still, I will have 9 riders lining up, assuming I don’t fire any of them before the deadline.

123rd

I was really low (like at one point I was in the high 300- low 400’s) until August…Eneco Tour with Martin, EBH and Boom and then I had Nibali, Velits for the Vuelta. And then Gesink helped later in Canada/Italy

I probably could have done better but all my riders were U-26 so I was a bit restricted.

by Vlaanderen90 on Feb 10, 2011 3:56 PM EST up reply actions

Too Dutch

Maybe our teams won’t be as alike as I’d imagined.

Currently, from all valid teams,

(submitted or not), there is one team each with 8, 7 and 6 Dutchies and five teams with 5. All other teams have 4 or fewer.

Hm

Looks like I’ll have to try a little harder. But not much.

LOL, it never fails that when I post a start list without a disclaimer, someone shows up and tells me that no, it’s like totally wrong. Even if I got it off the org webby. So, I’m now well-trained.

Uhhh gavia [pushes glasses up nose]

They list a Thomas Veilleux on Europcar, and while there is a David Veilluex, CQ has no record of a Thomas

…unless everyone on europcar has been told to emulate Tommy V, and little David is taking that too seriously.

They seem to think

the same. There are 22 teams this year, and there were 25 in 2010. Saxo Bank is also missing, but it’s not on their race schedule either.

Bring on the cobbles!

I made this countdown clock a while back. Could be remade with a more accurate time if I knew the actual start time and what the time actual difference is etc., etc.. But in the olden days this would have already been done and posted on a side bar in November.

English language streaming?

don’t see anything about this on US or CTV.

by hughw on Feb 10, 2011 6:32 PM EST reply actions

Could be because...

there’s some recent crackdowns on streaming and torrents. Just a fortnight ago Homeland Security seized a domain name www.channelsurfing.net
More and more torrents seem to be accompanied with trackers which aren’t fended off by port or IP forwarders.
Some who stream sports have over the last 5-6 months become very discreet, and only start streams once an event is underway, and don’t advertise as widely as before.

by ike2112 on Feb 10, 2011 6:58 PM EST up reply actions

Whoa, no more channelsurfing?

Meh. Hey Homeland Security, don’t you have anything better to do?

Ahem, right, no politics, Gav.

This is good info, but I'm interested in paying

I hope at least Sporza.be is legal?

Cycling.tv used to show Het Volk ^H^H^H^HNieuwsblad, can’t remember what they charged but you used to be able to buy a classics package iirc.

Anybody know whether anyone will pick up the slack? Sporza.be is fine with me of course, but I do enjoy the announcing in English too.
