Alberto "El Pistolero" Contador and the Giro 'd Italia

This is my first FanPost so bear with me and be nice as I am new to this.

The latest news from RFEC was surprising to some of us and to others not so surprising.  Now that rumors are saying AC will ride the Giro in preparation for the TdF I am left to wonder what is going through the minds of RCS Sport who is the organizer of the Giro.  Will they let Contador ride if he isn't suspended by CAS before May 9th?  Based on the past history that Italy (CONI) has had with another top Spanish rider (Valverde) I wonder if they might step up and tell Contador/SBS they are not invited?  Part of this could be that before Contador's announcement one of their own, Nibali, was the favorite to win.  Throw in AC and things all of a sudden change and AC is probably the favorite.

Personally the Giro is my favorite GrandTour for various reasons and 2011 was set to be a great race even before Contador said he would ride it.  Not sure RCS really needs Contador in the race to make it more exciting/get more viewers.  You already have a group of great riders (Nibali, Kreuziger, Sastre&Menchov? (hopefully), Scarponi, Di Luca) that will battle it out. Stage 9 up Mt. Etna twice is going to be epic.  How many Italians will be happy if Contador is allowed to ride in the Giro and "steals" the win from Nibali/Scarponi?  These are all questions I have had in the past 24 hours of craziness.
