I live in North Carolina and I'm getting a wild itch to visit Europe and perhaps try to catch a professional road race (or two... or three) in person. My first thought was the Ardennes Classics. My second thought was perhaps Lombardy at the end of the season.
Here's my problem, I don't have a whole lot of traveling experience and ZERO experience watching a race live and in person. So I was hoping some of you might be able to share some advice to a newbie. I've searched a bit for a tour company that might offer something to attend, but my google-fu has failed me.
So tell me, am I totally insane? Do any of you know a tour company that might be able to help me out? Should I perhaps aim for different races to attend? Am I totally insane and why would I ask that question again when the answer is clearly "hail yes"?? Any and all advice most welcome!
Something I probably should have added earlier. I just want to watch. I do not want to ride. All the tours I've found seem to be a "ride part of the route" kind of thing that I am not interested in. I do not want to ride a bike unless it has a motor on it. Ahhh, fond memories of my Moto Guzzi...
