2011 Tour of California - Stage Routes Unveiled (sorta)

The route details for the first three stages of the 2011 Tour of California have been revealed.Have a looksy...

Haven't had a chance to digest them in any detail, but first impressions are that stage 1 will be gorgeous (one and a half laps around Lake Tahoe), stage 2 will be downhill, and stage 3 will get progressively stinkier the closer they get to the finish line in Modesto (mucho cows).

are you really coming all the way here for this stage?

I remember you got married at Emerald Bay. (No I wasn’t there but you told me.)

I just made reservations at Fallen Leaf Lake Campground. Yay! I am so excited. It is on the Stage 1 route.

High Above the Cal - Neva

is that Emerald Bay?

Sadly, I doubt we’ll make it there this year …. but what a beautiful place for those lucky enough to attend

Does Livermore require special clearance?

And they really are doing baldy. Too cool!

"dumped for Greipel?!"

Yes

You need to contact the Department of Energy, get special clearances, etc. If you start now, you might be done for 2012. You can use me as a character reference. And Baldy is on Can’t wait to see the actual route because I signed up for that L’Etape thingy and I have no idea what I’m getting myself into…
