Break of 3 had 4:50 at last update.
Yoann Offredo (FDJ), Maxime Bouet (AG2R) and Tony Gallopin (Cofidis). The average speed for the first hour was 42.8 kph, and it’s Denis Galimzyanov’s birthday.

The "finished" ones do.
Mine is actually WAY cool cause it’s 2,000 sq feet (house is a “ranch” style) and it’s completely open. The kids ride bikes down there in the winter and they even have a power wheel’s quad (4 wheeler) down there that they race around.
I’ve been thinking of banking the walls for a private velodrome. good idea, no?
hells yeah
get on that. i want video. and an invite.

Washing machines, yes, but pool table only if it's a finished basement
meaning it gets treated as a room, not a concrete hole in the ground.
The furnace is usually down there as well, and many old houses have a well or cistern in the basement. So combined utility room and storage.
My part of Indiana has few basements—too much flooding—but everywhere I lived back East had them.

The classic recipe from the old gingham Better Homes & Gardens cookbook.
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 beaten egg
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons salad oil or melted shortening or bacon fat
Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Combine egg, milk, and oil; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until flour is moistened. (Batter will be lumpy.) Bake on hot griddle. Makes about 12 dollar-size or 8 4-inch pancakes.

They leave it out, but of course when done you serve them with butter and maple syrup.

(do you know what a cup is in ounces or grams?)

There are various converters if you google it.
Never found one I thought worked though. :-(

I found this for flour:
1 cup = 125g 4.4 oz 0.27 lb 0.125Kg
I yearn for the cobbles--Edvald Boasson Hagen
isn't a cup a volume though?
"Ants don’t worry, they operate like a fantastic team, they accept obstacles and deal with them in a positive manner, they don’t complain and remain positive. An ant doesn’t work on emotion, is proactive and always chooses the ant role."
A cup has weight and volume.
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Which is why this is a specific conversion for flour--it wouldn't work for just any ingredient.
I yearn for the cobbles--Edvald Boasson Hagen
hmmm
struggle a bit with recipes by volume
"There is nobody doing it for the money. Everybody is doing it because they want to ride bikes." Lizzie Armitstead
So do you weigh everything?
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
British recipes do.
"There is nobody doing it for the money. Everybody is doing it because they want to ride bikes." Lizzie Armitstead
I love the change to cups etc,...so much easier than getting out the scales.
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
I have electronic scales about 15 cm diameter.
No hassle & less washing up. :-)

There is that...
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
But don't you need lots and lots of cups
To stop the flour getting in the sugar & butter etc?

come again?
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
If you are getting a cup of flour, and then dip the same cup into the sugar, or whatever?
I guess you just pour it into the cup… or do as Majope suggests, below – makes sense
by Sarah Connolly on Mar 7, 2011 9:43 AM EST up reply actions
Very clever :)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
well, in my canisters for sugar and flour i keep the small 1/4 or 1/3 measuring "cups". or, you pour into the measuring cup. i never use the same cup to measure both by scooping into.
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
Same cup for all the dry...milk/oil goes in last. I never measure butter..it's on the packet.
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
You measure them according to messiness.
Like, it doesn’t matter if there’s a little flour in the butter, but if the cup is all butter the flour will stick.
Or you wash it out between.
I yearn for the cobbles--Edvald Boasson Hagen
But the cup goes in the dishwasher ;)

heh! Like the scales pan!
I love how different the same things are!

Especially seeing as we also use grams etc... I still know what an ounce looks like..
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Heh, same here
I learnt to cook in ounces, and that feels comfortable to me, but use litres/ml for volume… and of course we’re meant to be metric here

I still can't work out centimetres...
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
I am useless in both cm AND inches...

I actually have some American measuring cups I bought in the States
but god knows where.

a cup would be the size of a large tea cup rather than a mug.

Absolutely not, we celebrate Fat Tuesday by eating a Semla (or two).

I should hope so.

What is seen in the pic above is whipped cream
You make a little hole in the bun where you put the almond paste, the whipped cream goes on top of that.

Plus I especially liked this from the wiki entry

I think that without Jens! and Roy, de gendt wouldn't have won...
Roy and Voight’s pulls seemed so much longer/stronger and TdG just took advantage of it…
But that's what made him the rightful winner, if you know what I mean

I agree - and can see why ya say it about Jens! but from the other perspective...

I dropped Roy from my team this year...perhaps not such a good move.
