Calling DC Area PdCers...
Dearest DC PdC folks,
It's finally here. It's what we've been waiting for! Two days of cycling racing, rides and fesitivies. Who's attending, who's watching and who's riding? Air Force Cycling Classic...bring it on!
First up...
Saturday
Clarendon Cup - a fast and furious day of racing!
- 8:00am Amateur Races
- 10:05am Women's Pro/Am National Race Calendar (NRC) event
- 11:35am Kids Race
- 12:00pm Clarendon Cup Pro/Am Invitational NRC
8:00 - midnight - Washington Area Bike Association Bike Fest - All proceeds from the evening will benefit WABA's advocacy, safety and education programs. WABA is the nation's first bicycle advocacy organization and the region's leading voice promoting cycling in local governments, the classroom and on the streets. Details here.
Sunday
7:30 a.m. - Crystal Ride Challenge - Mark and I, against our normal rules not to dress alike, will both be rocking our PdC kits. If you're going to be riding, I'll be aiming for 6-7 laps. Mark will be going full tilt at 8-9 laps.
11:30 a.m. - Air Force Cycling Classic Crystal Cup - Another awesome circuit race located in Crystal City. Stick around for the Women's race after the men pound the pavement.
If you're planning on attending any of the races or events, let us know. If not in my PdC kit, I'll be in my cool PdC t-shirt. Come up and say "hello". I promise I don't bite. Mark, however, I can't really vouch for...

"Ants don’t worry, they operate like a fantastic team, they accept obstacles and deal with them in a positive manner, they don’t complain and remain positive. An ant doesn’t work on emotion, is proactive and always chooses the ant role."
I really must head South for this one year...
Sounds like a great weekend of festivities and I have an uncle to bother stay with.
