Aren't we all a little orange inside?
Once upon a time there was a little country named Holland. We all lived peacefully here and I really hoped for you that this was the end of the story but no. In this country there where 2 things we had enough. Water and wind. To transport everyone we had walkbikes, bikes with enormous wheels, bikes who where pulled by cows and the most important bikes with chain. Long and peacefully we could ride them without the annoying interference from Spaniards, French, Italians. They wanted to race with bikes with us and God man, we sucked.
And if that not was enough the competition came also from oversee. The introduction of airplans made it possible that there came riders from the USA, I also didn't know they had other ways to transport themself than cars!?, and from why couldn't they keep down under the sea Australia. We were shocked. Speechless and blown out of our shoes. Every finish we passed was at least 5 minutes behind the winner. Every time we heard a starting shot the podium misses where already kissing the winners and while we were celebrating our victory in the Tour de Rijke, some other dude was standing on a podium in France?! What the fack dude..
"Enough!!" Cried through whole the Netherlands. "We can't let them embarrass them in our sport!"
This was the moment where high, very high in the Netherlands in Groningen, with a loud G, the breedfactory was started. Janssen, Zoetemelk, Raas, van Moorsel were being called. Genes were mixed and 9 months later the production started. Wielinga and Veneberg were the first one selected for the battle between those outrageous outlanders. They had some/1 highlight in their career but failed inmediately after. We tried it the Italian/Spanish way but T. Dekker was way to Italian and got caught.
We got to the third generation. 7 little babies were all three wheel champion in kindergarten and stepped up pro's. Slashed the Italians and Spanish there ass and overcycled every country who came on their way. Many highlists we already had but today. Boys and Girls.. We saw the product of the hard work. 3 Dutch man in the fave group. An outstanding Kruijswijk who cycled away from every one away
TdS 11 - 6 (via CanalF10)
Morale of the story? We are on his way., The Dutch hegemony is finally a fact. And you really start worrying about the Tour de France.. But there is going to be a moment.. That you are celebrating a victory in the Tour de Rijke and we.. celebrating the win in the Tour de France.
Serious tho.. Isn't it beautiful that the orange-blue of Rabobank is finally making the last step to competitive team. In the CQranking an VDS. The hard work of an Continental team is finally worth their investment. Or are we just lucky with a lot orange talent?
The 7 babies? Vos, Boom, Mollema, Gesink, Kruijswijk, Langeveld, Poels

You forgot
Kelderman.
Also, shouldn’t Bos and Vos make a kid? I mean, if they don’t like each other, science can intervene for them. The world needs to know what would happen.

Kelderman is our ace..
But a little to young and not yet a pro.. Otherwise Dumoulin and Bol should also be inserted. They are also pearls of our country
and Vermeltfoort
but he is kind of broken right now

Holland is a name in common usage given to a region in the western part of the Netherlands. The term Holland is also frequently used to refer to the whole of the Netherlands. This usage is generally accepted but disliked by many Dutch people in the other parts of the Netherlands.
So you live in the west?
moo
It's pretty common usage, no?
Holland = Nederland = Holland
I like tinkering with the boys.

I assumed it was like calling the UK 'England'
Common for foreigners but deeply annoying to the locals.
I'm guessing that's less of an issue
in England itself than if you committed that error in, say, Scotland.
True
But it depends on context. Thus the Poms are rightly annoyed when someone refers to, say, Elizabeth II as ‘Queen of England’.
That said, there’s probably no greater insult for a Scot than to be called English.
personally
I love when people refer to Americans as “yanks”. Goes over well in Alabama…

seriously
about half of them are cowgirls.
"Ants don’t worry, they operate like a fantastic team, they accept obstacles and deal with them in a positive manner, they don’t complain and remain positive. An ant doesn’t work on emotion, is proactive and always chooses the ant role."
Well let me say, I'm from the west,
I never heard anyone who was annoyed by this. Like Tgsgilr said. We all use Holland = Nederland = Holland.
It's a temporary role
I was holding it open because our old jester ran away (some say to learn English, but I think that’s not true at all). We keep hoping he’ll come back. (Due in part to me being a pretty shitty jester.)
Frinking! Nice to see you back from the early retirement!
And all its took is to Steven win the stage!
Thank you Steven Kruijswijk for that, even if you have no clue!

Sign seen at entrance of local bike shop, " \o/ spoken here.". - Okay, I made it up, but wouldn't that be cool?
Call me when one of them gets within 5 minutes of a GT win
although I reckon Kruijs is gonna be even better than Gesink and I’m looking forward to seeing him progress.
You wait and see for the Tour, sir!
And wasn’t it for his knee.. Gesink would have ended in between the 5 minutes already http://vuelta.cyclingfever.com/editie.html?id=19140
I hear Gesink is in negotiations to become Hesjedal's domestique

you're mean frinking. getting albertina's hopes up like that.
"Wizard's first rule. People are stupid. They will believe anything they want to be true or fear to be true." -- Terry Goodkind
I'm trying to think of an actor who could pull off reading this the way I want to hear it read.
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
Forget an actor...holmovka would do this proud.
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Can it be Swarchnegger? (Or however you spell that name)
He can than randomly say: “Wij komen terug” We’ll be back refering to the Dutch hegemony
I actually did think of him as one possibility
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
Wir kommen zurück!
(A.S. would clearly be referring to coming Austrian hegemony, which will stop Dutch heg. in its tracks before it really gets going)

It was a beautiful thing seeing all that orange and blue zooming up that mountain today.
"At Hoogerland all the rides are pointless and a waste of energy" -Jens
And a beautiful thing to see Frinking writing about it.
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Somewhere in Limburg
Sminer: I blame KARMA for everything.
Jens: I've heard it's a bitch
Water Girl: I heard it ran over your dogma
Noo. That's very low..
But I was refering to the Batavieren.. Or Friezen/Groningers. That was it. Who were the only one not captured by the Roman. but when I figured out the story was funnier in my head than on paper I skipped some unimportant details
I used to scoff at all of Frinking's Dutch hegemony talk...
And think that Spanish and Italian climbers were the only way to go. But for some reason I filed away the name “Kruijswijk” when he mentioned it way back when… and then last year Gesink rode that amazing race in Canada… and now I am almost a believer.
Still on the fence about Mollema, though.
My second place behind Contador is worth a lot--Michele Scarponi
I remember being told to remember the name Kruijswijk.
But how can I possibly remember a name like that? I almost took Tankink too.
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
Frinking convinced me on Mollema...the only Dutchman in my team I'm sorry to say.
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
I took the big guys Gesink and Boom
but then who didn’t?
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
Oh, and Tom Stamsnijder
I love that guy, even if he is always a bagel.
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
Obviously me...I hadn't yet bought into a Dutch Hegemony...
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Don't worry
there are probably hundreds of young Italians and Spaniards being bred in the labs right now…hmm…maybe I phrased that wrong.
I loved this sentence...
Genes were mixed and 9 months later the production started.
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
You know he is second in GC?
Did better than Kruijswijk in his first GT. But has more of a painface when he climbs.
Loved the post Frinking! Hope it means you are back...
I have a theory that Rabobank is so good this year because I didn’t select a single one of them for my VDS team. They’ve been so consistent, not just “good” – Strong! I’m cool with the hegemony…I just don’t understand how these guys learned to climb so well in a country so flat…
All you need are flat roads and strong winds
You never get to stop pedaling and you’re fighting an invisible force. At least you can see the mountain when you’re fighting it.
"It's a lovely thing, feeling that momentum. If you're lucky, it's also about grace." Tim Winton
In my original drafted response, I said, "How steep are dykes?"
And thought better of it…
oops!

The future is bright, the future is Orange.
Solid group of exciting young riders, no doubt.
Just so we don't all get confused
Robobank Orange = Pantone 144c
Euskaltel-Euskadi Orange = Pantone 151
