so two weeks ago I was riding with a group from luciano cycles in battersea and we're playing a bit of cat and mouse on the way home. 2 break off and I decide to chase but I was really in too big a gear and pull out of my pedal, lose balance, barge into dudley the owner of luciano's and we all come to an abrupt halt!
chain has slipped and in the crash the chainring has gone into the back of my calf leaving some neat teeth mark cuts. aside of the odd cut nothing serious except..........................there is a nasty crack on the top tube of my beloved kuota kom :( "looks bad" says dudley, he should know as he sold me the bike.
get back to the shop and the frame is dead. now insurance wise you can buy beans on toast, chicken and chips, steak and chips or lobster provencal level. luckily I'd bought lobster provencal level for my bike and in less than a working week hiscox insurance (god bless them) cut me a vey large cheque for a new kuota kom.
now the 2011 kom evo comes with the bb30 and is very sexy. fitted out with rotor cranks, dura ace and mavic sys it's gorgeous. far too beautiful for a 40 something tennis coach to whizz around but there's the breaks!
so if anyone wants to come along for it's inaugural outing then meet luciano cycles battersea at 9am this sunday for a spin in the surrey hills. coffees on very smug me!!!!!
happy weekend all ;)
