Tom Boonen Hearts Quick-Step

Tom Boonen will ride for Quick-Step until 2013, according to a thingy on the Quick-Step website. Are we at all surprised by this news? I can't say that I am.

Press release quote!

"I always said this team was my first choice", said a satisfied Boonen. "I feel great here, it's like a family. There's a good, professional environment which is exactly what I want. Blah blah blah, etc.

Boonen's new contract also includes an option to extend it one more year to 2014, which seems like forever from now, but probably isn't. The time, it goes so fast.

In other news: the earth is round

Never expected him to go anywhere else.

Yes!

Boonen rides for Quick Step, the earth is round, the sun rises in the east. Any questions?

I have no rum

You have a choice of wodka, gin, beer, wine, limoncello and more beer.

Do I have to choose?

Wasn’t it rum in Hemingway? Or maybe it was gin. Man, that’s some good reading.

by Jen See on Jun 22, 2011 1:15 PM EDT up reply actions

I think it was rum

I wrote my bachelorpaper on that Fiesta thingy! Ernest, he had skillz.

I liked the bike race part :D

Heh, now I’m thinking my afternoon plans may have to include espresso and Hemingway. Would this be wrong?

Colum McCann

Just read that on my Giro trip

Loved it :)

If you haven’t already seen the excellent documentary Man on Wire, it makes a great companion piece to the novel.

It's amazy!

The writing is sooo good.

I hit some Ernie instead this afternoon, though, and that also was quite lovely.

I finally had to AdBlock that image. Too disturbing.
