Tour de France: Five Trivia Questions

The start list now confirmed - some trivia questions on the stats on the riders that currently make up the start list of the TdF 2011.

(I thank in advance the good people at live-radsport.ch for their usual treasure trove of incidental information they always publish along with their start list for each GT - and which is the basis for the questions and answers in this fanpost)

All answers to the questions are available by clicking the link, or checking the comment section (will put answers in first comment).  So click and scroll carefully if you decided to play along

Question 1 - If you average the dates of birth of every rider in each team you can compile a list of "oldest to youngest" teams.  Radioshack top the list (surprise - i think not).  Can you place the next four "oldest" teams in the right order?

yyyy/mm/dd

1978/01/19   Radioshack

1979/09/08

1980/06/27

1980/11/21

1980/12/17

                                 Lampre   Saxobank   Garmin   Leopard

Rest of List (in average age order) - (1981) EUS, ALM, AST, BMC, RAB, QSI, OLO (1982) SKY, COF (1983) LIQ, EUC, MOV, SAU, VCD, THR (1984) KAT, FDJ (youngest average age - 1984/07/24)

Question 2.  198 riders will take to the start.  How many of them will be eligible for the Young Riders Classification?

0-10      11-20      21-30     31-40     41-50     51-60    61-70   71-80  81+

Question 3.  The 198 riders come from 30 different nations.  Some nations provide many riders, others only one.  Have grouped these nations into blocks.  Reorder the blocks so that list goes from block with most riders to the block with least?

Block A - France, Spain

Block B - Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, USA

Block C - Australia, Austria, Belorussia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, GB, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway. Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland,  Ukraine,

Question 4.  On the start line will be the current World Champion in both the RR and the TT, 9 National TT champions and 10 National RR champions.  But there will be nine teams that will not have any of these champions riding amongst them and will never have a rider in a different kit to the rest of the team.  How many of the teams can you name?

(Bonus question - only two teams have a rider that will never wear standard issue team kit - name the two riders?)

ALM, AST, BMC, COF, EUC, EUS, FDJ, GRM, KAT, LAM,  LEO, LIQ, MOV, OLO, QSI, RAB, RSH, SAX, SAU, SKY, THR, VCD,

Question 5.  Young Riders classification. Only one team has four eligible riders for the classification, and four teams have no eligible riders.  Can you name these five teams?

ALM, AST, BMC, COF, EUC, EUS, FDJ, GRM, KAT, LAM,  LEO, LIQ, MOV, OLO, QSI, RAB, RSH, SAX, SAU, SKY, THR, VCD,

Finally - the linked to site for the start list usually makes it available in a "print on one page format" once the back numbers are known.  Print it, laminate it, use it as a mouse mat for the rest of the tour is my motto.
