Crusher in the Tushar: Or, Cool Bike Race in the Utah Mountains
Ex-pro Burke Swindlehurst put on a crazy hard race through Utah back country last weekend. Paved roads, dirt roads... you name it. It included like 10,000 feet of climbing. Most of the guys rode cross bikes, some mountain bikes. Tyler Wren won the men, Clara Hughes (badass alert!) won the women. There's a story at VeloNews with some fab photos from Fred Marx. So you should go look at them. Also, the story is by Someone You Know. Shameless, I know.

I heard about this from Boo earlier today...but nice article Gav (and photos from Fred).
I think it’s great that a bamboo bike was used for the winning ride. I seriously like Boo Bicycles…
I like how the organizer liked hearing that most racers think they made the wrong bike choice…keep em guessing!
Someone we know will have that Boo frameset by mid August..
They are iconic to say the least. I only know of two in my area. Burke has one…. Tyler w=has the other … for now.
Clara made a comment to me the other day at Cascade about how much fun she had “girling” all the boys. She’s a full on badass, and funny as all get out. Currently leading the Cascade Classic, but thats tomorrows story.

I had assumed
That beer would be a large part of the planning budget for a race of this type

We had a beer sponsor..
Odd I know considering it IS Utah and a rural, conservative part at that.
