I'm sure they pulled it
It definitely doesn’t work now. Did you copy the article, perchance..?

Cruel and unusual
Google search pulls up this preview…to a dead CN link
Rolf Aldag no longer wants to be deeply involved in cycling, saying that he has "no interest in working in a scenario that I don’t like and where nothing …
At least he didn't call McQuaid a dick
"I’m pretty disappointed, but if this is what people want to see, a race decided on a downhill," Andy Schleck said. "I don’t think that. A finish like this should not be allowed."
Triathlons?
Drug use in triathletes is pretty rampant and their testing no where near as detailed as cycling.I find his stance on drugs seems to be tempered by what I am sure he is being paid in his new job.
I agree with his opinions on UCI and really like him but find it hard to understand saying your leaving for moral reasons and going somewhere they look the other way far more.
Perhaps he mostly laments hypocrisy
more than actual doping. Of course, he was a doper himself.

pure guess-work from ddifp:
this is blowback from someone who blames the UCI for Stapleton’s inability to land a sponsor to continue High Road.
Cyclingnews . . .
. . . has certainly on occasion pulled stories once posted quikcly off their site. I’ve seen it happen twice. I wonder how much it goes on, how many time have I missed it.
but it's been edited
These 2 paragraphs were added. First one, another charge against Pat. Second, qualifiers (demanded by Pat?)
“"He also said at first that there was no Contador case – now we have been working on it for two years. There were enough other cases, where the UCI could have made a point. Such things make McQuaid extremely unbelievable."
It must be noted that the Amstrong donations were made to the UCI before McQuaid was president. In addition, the UCI in 2010 showed Cyclingnews the receipts for the donation, which show that the money was used for anti-doping, and also made it clear that it would not accept donations in the future."
not sure how a receipt shows what the money is used for
either way, does it really matter what they do with money given by someone they govern? that’s like saying ‘i used the bribe money to help the homeless.’ good on you for helping people, but you still took a bribe, and the person who gave it is still expecting something in return. and the fact that they won’t accept any in the future just shows even they realize it’s wrong (from active riders that is).
"Ants don’t worry, they operate like a fantastic team, they accept obstacles and deal with them in a positive manner, they don’t complain and remain positive. An ant doesn’t work on emotion, is proactive and always chooses the ant role."
also, the edited version is buried
your link goes directly to second edition Cycling News, but I can’t find the story on Cycling News home page.
I guess I’m more interested here in Cycling News’ style of journalism. Often journalism by press release, and now journalism by editing without calling attention to the corrections and changes.
Pat McQuaid’s leadership style has already been analyzed and criticized lots here, I don’t think there’s much disagreement about that.
CN changes articles all the time
Especially the headlines. The RSS title is often different from the site’s title. (Which incidentally breaks the link)
"Oh man, it’s going to take days to kill all these people!"
