This looks interesting: http://www.mapmytracks.com/events/tour-down-under-2012/race/stage-21
Live-ish ticker. It is quite informative.http://www.tourdownunder.com.au/live-feed.htm
I'm at a brunch thing at the pub with my students when the race starts. Seeing as putting up these threads is about my only contribution all year, I thought I'd get it up tonight. (I'm not a morning person.)
The standings at the beginning of the stage are:
| 1 | Martin Kohler (Swi) BMC | 8:33:05 | |
| 2 | André Greipel (Ger) Lotto-Belisol | 0:00:02 | |
| 3 | Michael Matthews (Aus) Rabobank | 0:00:04 | |
| 4 | Simon Gerrans (Aus) GreenEDGE | 0:00:08 | |
| 5 | Rohan Dennis (Aus) UNI SA - Australia | 0:00:09 | |
| 6 | Eduard Vorganov (Rus) Katusha | 0:00:10 | |
| 7 | Xavier Florencio Cabrè (Spa) Katusha | 0:00:12 | |
| 8 | Jonathan Cantwell (Aus) Team Saxo Bank | ||
| 9 | Jan Bakelants (Bel) RadioShack-Nissan | ||
| 10 | Luke Roberts (Aus) Team Saxo Bank |
EBH also stands at 0.12. In all likelihood it will be a bunch finish and I expect Greipel will be back in ochre for another day. But there are a number of guys who are keen to spoil the party, and they're capable of doing so. Look out for young Eddie and Bling. Renshaw may find himself as a leadout man yet again. Valverde and Gerrans will be there at the end too, if things go smoothly. Of course Kohler might hang on, but I'm not very confident. What seems likely is that the old hands in the peloton won't be fooled again.
Um will be here to keep order, muk will interpret, flatty will make guest appearances and Zoerochelle will will continue to build up her cultural content, ready to use her new passport. Don't forget to tweet the ABC(Aunty) in Adelaide and congratulate them for making it all fun, even if at times it's utterly chaotic. I should be back to watch the peloton roll into Victor Harbour. Go Bling!
PS. Stuey is not going to be charged. Champagne at brunch I think.
PPS. I would have put a photo in but the SOPA stuff stopped me.
