Go ahead.
We can always reduce the race to 100 laps around the velodrome.
A similar strory broke last year. I think its a wake up call.
Dammit!
We gave Les Amis cold cash last year, they need to fix this!
Srsly, it’s a brittle stretch, they closed it in 2005 because of mines caving in underneath. It happens. If not this year, I’m sure it’ll be back soon.

and i’m sure some years ago, some other sector was taken out to add arenberg. people probably cried and moaned about it then too, and look how it turned out. things will change like they always have, paris roubaix will still be the greatest race ever. arenberg will be back, restored and ready to inflict more pain, eventually.

As the sector taken out to fit Arenberg in was cobble free, your assumption would be erroneous.
Arenberg evidently needs rolling stones, as prob seems to be moss growth.
Why would the assumption be erroneous?
Just because the sector Arenberg replaced didn’t have cobbles doesn’t mean it was entirely unloved. It’s entirely possible that people cried and moaned about it.

or there could have been other changes that year
i figure there weren’t two parallel cobbles sectors and they included arenberg and removed its neighbor, i was thinking more in the probably many changes to the course that were made the year arenberg was first introduced, a sector or two might have been dropped.
either way, my point wasn’t one of historical accuracy, more of a general sectors come and sectors go but the race is still awesome. losing a sector for a couple years isn’t going to ruin the race.

Adding...
the initial concern seems a bit overblown. I bet they include it.

FYI
race direction in that photo is left to right. I love that skinny stone on the right margin. Total tire shredder.

How does one clean a forest and why?
One scapes away the moss growth where it is excessive and dangerous.
So they're actually talking about cleaning the cobbles?
As opposed to cleaning the forest.

When
they said cleaning I was picturing trash along the road from spectators.I can see were this area is fragile with it’s age,but so very special to the race.
Also, sorry if I posted this wrong, I got a bit confused as to what category what I was trying to do fell in.
no worries
it’s fine.

last year..............
it was f@@king hard enough on that sportive. I have a metal plate in my arm and I felt like a tuning fork after those pave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this year
amstel, a bit of light refreshment methinks.
ASO though dickheads, have moved the sportive the week before so it now clashes with flanders. so you could do sportive flanders drive to st.quentin and do roubaix but you’d miss watching the pros doing the ronde – why would you do that?
so us lucky ones last year did the first and possibly only sportive then pro day weekend. the pros in the arenberg were awesome.
Paris-Roubaix without Arenberg? That would be like the Tour de France without Alpe d'Huez!
Oh, hang on a mo …
