Damn that's tough.
Good to see the recovery’s progressing though.
I'm not just a smartarse. Other parts of me are sometimes clever as well.
Damn.
Some of these hardwomen are tough.
Good luck with the recovery, Emma.

Tough does not even start to tell the story. I am in awe.

Leaning on the bars...
that’s the hardest thing right there.
I broke my collarbone in a race April ‘96 (early in the season). Had to recover without surgery. I didn’t want to “lose fitness” so I road my stupid trainer for 3 hours a day…every day for about 5 weeks. For the first few days, I couldn’t even lean on the bars. I don’t know exactly what they do when they “operate” on a fractured clavicle…plates & screws I would guess. You really gotta want it. Emma clearly wants it.
My experience with the collarbone break is this – the crash & break itself didn’t hurt. Sleeping, OTOH, was abso-effin-lutely miserable!
Her blog posts about needing to be fed through a straw had me freaked out - so HTFU
Last year Johansson started her season early, riding the Coupe de France races… I wonder how her season will go this time. Massive good luck to her and all the best for fast healing
Aka Pigeons!
She says herself that her form is generally ahead of the competition
iving her an advantage in the early races. Perhaps this will even it out a bit so it’s only fair. :-)
Give her a unicycle with only one crank
And make her carry everyone’s lunch?

Handicap her like Boom in the Boonen & Friends cross race
She gets to start a minute behind, every day!

ouch
I broke mine as a kid and I remember………………pain and no sleep. my very best wishes to her for this season. maybe Pat McQ should take a look at the dedication of women cyclists instead of talking bollocks.
by the way, check out those scars, was the surgeon wearing boxing gloves?
too soon for full scarring to show

This lass rocks
From now on, she has clearly got to be referred to as Emma!
Warning... not everything I say should be taken entirely seriously
