PrintStage 5 is here...! Yes this is the queen stage, this is the one that most likely will determinated who the winner of this Tour will be (if not at least will give us a very good idea)
So if you like some serious South American climbing stay here for some updates, if not feel free to change to another post and don't waste your time... But lets see what San Luis has to offer us today.... Shall we?

That finish looks very sexy...! Doesn't it? You want a close up don't you? You are a pervert...! Here..:
Can you see it? You want me to tell you how it is? Ok I will try...Is 7 kms of climbing, average in this 7 km is 8.75%... From km 1 of the climb to km 5 is 6% the incline, From 5 to 6 mark it takes a little jump (into the sky) 15.5% yes you are reading right, is going up really nice...! And for the last part is "easier" only 14.5%,.. I don't know about you but my legs hurt just to imagine all this..! Nice isn't it?
So big guys will have to come out and play again, or so is everyone like me hoping for... I heard Contador was very upset yesterday after the TT, so I am waiting to see if he lets it all out in his way up this climb.. Who the big guys are or who has a chance to separeted from the rest today? Lets take a closer look at the first 15 or 20 places in the GC.

Prediction.
I hope one of the locals take the win or least a rider from South America. Failing that we could see a nice battle between Nibali, Schumacher and Contador with Leipheimer controlling the situation. In the end Leipheimer will take the win with Contador coming 2nd.

Some help with translations, please
When I read the Spanish twitter there are some expressions I don’t understand, and that does not get translated with the on-line translation tools:
“jajaja” – my guess is that it means “hahaha”, but is that correct?
“crack” – I guess it is something appreciative like “hero”?
“q” – here I am totally lost
So if someone, Pablo? could help it would be nice :)

no problem... ask when you are not sure, argentinian spanish can have a really different meaning.

Here are a few more that you might see occasionally -
tb = tambien = also
x = por = for (but it’s one of those prepositions that has a few different meanings)
k = que = what
xk = por que? or porque = why or because
tol = todo el = all of the
d = de = of
BBDDs = buenas dias = good morning
iwal = igual = equal/same
TT = tweet
tod@s = todos/todas = all/everyone
and sometimes people write “k” instead of “c” or “qu”!
All very confusing, but I guess no more so than abbreviations in any other language!

Not been following this too closely(this thing called work gets in the way)
But hasn’t this stage got Contador’s name written all over it? Even at less than 100% can Nibali or Lepheimer hope to stay with him over the last couple of km?
And yes, I am assuming that they are at similar levels of under-preparedness* for this race, it is still very early in the season for these big guns…
* no, I am not referring to or hinting at anything sinister, just recognising the fact that they at this stage of the year they would probably not be tailoring their training rides to peak for this race

I think it does have his name stamped on it for the win, not sure he can take back
all the time he needs on Leipheimer. As long as the angry gnome rides a really hard, steady pace and doesn’t try to match those blistering accelerations, I think he can stay close enough to maintain his lead. Anybody else got a different opinion?

I am not so sure Contador takes this stage,
the other day the angry gnome followed him easy peasy to the line in one of the videos I saw from the stage. I think Leipheimer is in good shape and Contador not so much.

besides all the great racing is a great place to admire…! And when I am mad at Fox sport is for a reason. They are the ones that have to show it and so far they don’t show much more then the beginning or end of the stages. I even heard that they are getting pay to do this… (this I don’t know for sure)

I think that Contador should be happy with this result.
Sure he lost a chunk of time in the TT, and was not able to get all of that back from the Angry Gnome, but he still put his stamp on his terrain, when the road goes UP, and I bet we see the TT’s in the Grand Tour(s) run a lot closer than we saw this one.
Anyone want to bet that Levi Takes an equivalent amount of time out of Contador in the TDF TTs?

I can only view him as a cyclist.
On that scale the guy is pretty damned impressive, to me anyway.
But I am stoked to see some of the local boys mixing it with the likes of the Angry Gnome, the Accountant and Nibs…

Moyano we might see him a little more during the pro season his first season as a pro with Caja Rural…! Dani went big out today… Hope he makes it to a better level… I was listening to the governor of San Luis and as a joke he said that San Luis somos todos is not going to stop until they get a Tour of France invitation… They are being support by local authorities.

what we read about him in argentina is very much in contrast to what we’ve heard of him in the past, so not sure i’d read too much into it.

One of the best decisions I took is to come to Argentina and take part of the Tour de San Luis. People is treating me very well here and I am sorry that sometimes I don’t have the time everyone deserves.
